Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Moving from Houston to Midland Texas in a few months.... Just need some plugs to land a oil& gas job....

There was a NTer who got a job with Halliburton a while ago and was trying to help others out...can't remember his name though...

If you're looking to work in the oil fields you should take a look at North Dakota as well. There is tons of work out here as well. Good luck with your search!

@cubanref Is there an age limit to the North Dakota oil fields? How soon will someone find a job if they were to go there?

Depends on the evaluator/"interrogator"... Mine consisted of hours of constant questioning.

The main focus is maintaining your heart rate. This determines if you're not telling the truth or avoiding the question.

Like I said, it's pretty intense. They hooked me up to this chair which had sensors under my feet, under my butt, around my chest, forehead and the tip of my fingers.

They will start out with simple questions like "Is your name ___" "Are you testing for ____ position?"

They are evaluating your heart rate and finding a rythem. Then they start asking personal questions.

thanks bro took it today and passed so excited about that after so many ppl tried to "scare" me about the whole process of the polygraph and it wasnt that bad

How do you even get into the oil fields? You just drive out there and apply or something lol

rr do you work 80 hours a week?

I did mine online most can do it online but the old school way of going to a facility and talking yo some one there will get u in there faster. Also in Texas there all always hiring seminars . same with Pennsylvania , colorado, north Dakota, and Louisiana.

Anyone got any info on jobs around the Sacramento area? My brother just graduated and is having trouble finding a job.

When it coms to interviews, how do you guys answer the "What are some of your weaknesses" question? I dont think I have ever given a truly great answer to that question if there even is one.

Well... the people that are usually scared are the people who have something to hide.

If you have nothing to hide, there's nothing to be scared about. Mine Polygraph took awhile, but I wasn't intimidated at all.

What do you have next? The background check huh?

Say something like "I am not very patient, what is obviously not good, but I am working on it everyday, doing various of activities."

It's not important to describe what your weakness is but it's important to define how exactly you try to get rid of your weakness.

Oh ****. Guess I better prepare to be patient for awhile myself..do you think having a veeeerrrrryyyy minor arrest will have anything to do with the rate of speed or lack thereof??

Depends on what you were arrested for. But i'm sure your background investigator will determine that.

got my first check today after becoming salary and im happy as hell.

i got the job without being told what i'd be making, honestly i had very low expectations but they really took care of me.

benefits after 90 days, work phone and a cubicle with a computer.

Landed a job in Houston at a Verizon retailer. I feel like I'll do well but I want a job with guaranteed bread, salaried about 75k.

What's the gig?
audio lighting technician in the lounge area.

i also provide and setup mics or whatever else is needed around the casino audiowise,

theres a casino with the lounge area, and across the street theres a hotel and also a golf course thats maybe 10 mins away.

im going to eventually be in charge of handling everything, well thats what they are thinking.

i came at a crazy time, my current workplace is now being overseen by the people who supervised the other casino i worked at.

both owned by the same tribe, but they cleaned out house and they really left ish in shambles..
