Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

This lady I met at a Networking Happy Hour emailed me yesterday about a recruiter that's looking for a Marketing Assistant doing some digital marketing work. Told me that I should contact the recruiter directly. Called the recruiter and chatted with her for a bit, she went over the position duties and asked me to send over my resume and I did. She's suppose to call me sometime today so I hope I get that call. This could be a big break for me.
Well I'm still waiting on a decision. It's looking kinda bleak now.

Back to the drawing board

Stay up, y'all...every passing second brings us all closer to our inevitable breakthroughs...:pimp:

Got the agility test for the police dept. I applied to in about 7.5 hours...will report back later on with results.

Got let go this past week from a nice-paying NYC finance job.

Back on the hunt this week. Keep pushing, my NT brethren.

Stay in contact with the people you had a good relationship with. Finance in NYC is a small community.

Pressure is really starting to get on me... since i quit my job I've been lollygagging about work tbh. been lazy and haven't followed up on applications. Worst thing is i've developed a ton of bum tendencies since i've been unemployed but I'm starting to get back on it..

Mostly been fooling with temp places trying to get an interview but the Apple store around my way is hiring and I've heard a lot of good things about them.

Anyone here have experience working with an Apple store?

My university is having 2 career fairs this Wednesday. One is open to all majors and the other is marketing. Planning to attend both. We'll see how it goes. Anyone been to any career fairs at their university?

My cousin just got a job (doing security at Marshalls, but still it's a job).

Dude's been arrested 3 times in the last 6 months (driving w/o valid license/registration), doesn't have a cell phone, was semi-homeless for a minute and doesn't have internet where he's staying now.

He hit up the library every day, all day, for like a month and applied to everything he could.

I say all that to say, keep your head up and don't give up. If he can find employment, I'm sure everybody in this thread can to.

Good luck.

Went to one and it was a bad experience for me

Lots of ppl so it was pretty hot and humid in there. Each company had around 5 ppl there. I guess if you can actually have someone remember you that would be good but honestly, if I went to one of those as a recruiter, I doubt I'll remember more than 2 faces the next morning, unless they stuck out in a bad way

After being unemployed for 3 months and going to numerous interviews and never getting a good call back, I finally landed a Full-Time 9-5 job as an Insurance Authorizer with a Physical Therapy/Pain Medicine clinic.

This gives me the great opportunity of earning a whole lot more money but still being able to take night classes for my Bachelor's Degree.

I feel so thankful and happy especially when I felt I wouldnt be able to land a good job at all. AND I'm leaving that Retail Job life behind!

Keep at it guys!

Congrats. Always good to see those posts in here. People don't know how hard it is until it happens to them.

Compsci graduate.

Been job hunting for a month now. No luck. Really developing a passion for web development. Think that's where I want to start my career.

Struggle is real, never thought it'd be this bad while I was studying.

On a site note, just finished 2 websites. Developed from scratch.

www.lechitimate.com

Personal website based on hobbies and interests (Chrome for full effects, not fully optimzied for mobile yet)

www.richardkam.com

Website for friend's dad who loves photography. Abuot me page is empty as client hasn't provided me with content to put up.

Check them out, all criticism welcome

It's almost been a year since I finally found some employment thanks to the positive vibes of this thread.

Today we had a company meeting and I got the biggest surprise.

I ended up getting awarded the employee of the month for my department(2nd time) and employee of the month(1st time) for the entire company.

I was unemployed for 3 years before I found my current job.

God is good, stay up brothers and keep grinding.

Shout out to Whole Foods.

Finally after months of waiting, and a month after I took the employment test, I have finally have a interview in two weeks. So soo amped even though my current job is cool and I've been there 6 years, this is a dream job and it's double the salary in a bigger city. I just know I'm going to ace this interview

Good luck bro, what is it for?

Have a phone interview tomorrow afternoon after passing the initial job questionnaire. So tired of my current job and waking up at 430am for. I'm always tired during the day because of this ish.

Ultimately I want to run a business of my own or at least bring in about 400 additional dollars a week creating something I love. This job would be a breath of fresh air though.

for anybody that wants to know ,coca-cola is starting to hire for the summer

Enjoycareers.com is the website and you just have to pick the state on the left hand side and look over the positions they're hiring for
