For now im looking into anything from Behavior Interventionist to Human Resource/Manager role
I went to University of California, Riverside with Psychology. I live in Orange County now and im just basically looking at any companies within my area.

Do any of yall know anything about Project Launch Inc company? some people say its a scam and some say its not... idk what to believe.

hey guys i'm looking for some advice with my career path

i'm currently working as a mechanical/architectural engineer at a company right now in Maryland

and i'm looking to relocate to San Diego. i want to pursue mechanical engineering in the automotive industry because

that's what i've always wanted to do. i'm torn if i should just leave my job, move there and start looking for work

or just keep applying until i find something and then move.

You have to accept a job if offered (usually pay is not considered) and you will probably have to search several jobs a week so keep track when you file your claims. Also, those career classes every so often at some center. If you refuse a job and the state finds out, you might lose your unemployment. You can also take a part time job and recieve some unemployment.

****, I once paid money to attend one and ended up with a couple of flyers and being told to "apply online" all day.

I seriously have no idea what the point is for the employers.

BTW, if ya'll see anything like "sports-minded professionals" (for my entry-level/recent graduates) it's a scam; you'll be selling coupons or other stuff door to door all day for commission.
 
So, I put my resume on careerbuilder a bit ago. I heard back from a couple people interested in interviews via email and phone call, it seems that they look for key-words. From what I could tell "critical thinking" "collaboration", "People-person". I think its a good idea  putting your resume on careerbuilder and putting in those keywords.

Def keep ur job and interview first..it's so rough out there to land a job..

If u wanna move to SD..apply for companies out there..and maybe use vacation time to fly out there and get some interviews..and do ur best to knock them out of the park

Even if u hav a ton of reserve funds..quitting a job is a huge risk

Well I didn't get the full-time position (was beat out by someone with more experience) but I was offered to extend my internship till May 2015. Looking forward to gaining more experience.
 
Just had my final interview with Target. Been a long process, but got a call a little while later and got offered a job. Told myself if I got the job Id tell the bros on NT first, mainly because the positivity that has been spread out all through this thread as well as the Motivational Quotes thread. Its certainly a Blessing after looking around for so long. Keep grinding bros and keep Praying. It's gonna come.
 
I got a email today from a job that I submitted my application to on Friday. I am not sure how I want to approach the email since the HR lady is saying that she need more information on requirements for the position. This is a Manager, Inventory Management, Demand Planning & Provisioning position with American Airlines if that helps.

Some of the requirement that she is asking for is

-Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, business, or relatated

-3 years of experience in inventory management/ supply chain operations          

-Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and data mining using Teradata/SQL system

-ERP/MRP systems    

Now I will not graduate with my minor in supply chain management until December and the only experience I have for ERP is the class I am taking now. Not sure how I can tailor my resume to fit these requirements to at least set up an interview 

Any advice would help.
 
Not jobless but I am looking. Trying to get in with the Federal Goverment. Been applying with USAJOBS. The first month was nothing, then all of a sudden I was getting refferals and phone interviews. Im a vet so I have that going for me.

I mean **** it's cleaning but it's lightwork and I'm getting paid for it n **** :lol: a ***** can't stop smilin homies this is dope man I gotta job man :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

Amazes me that people who are responsible for hiring and recruiting are still on vacation after Labor Day :x :smh:

Also, just been frustrating as a whole when your network has been useless. It's only worth something when you have something to give. All of these people I've contacted and shot e-mails to only to have them ignored.
 
If you are a male with an 4yr degree associated with social work, pm me. I know of an opportunity working with African American inner city youth (teaching Abstinence+) in Houston, Texas, which pays about $40k. Ideal opportunity for someone that has recently graduated.
If you had a child at a young age or been affected by HIV, would be really good.

. I was trying to get something up there in terms of Health Science. CDC called me but I flopped during the interview. Got a Masters..now I have time to study for my boards. Please pray for me fellas..I love Atlanta.
 
How difficult is it to get a job as an out of state applicant? Tips? Graduated in May with 2 Master degrees in Counseling and trying to move from NY to GA, TX, etc. Struggle is getting real |I

Didn't get the gig at Wmata, but sitting here realizing I was depending
on some oversized manager/supervisor/young employee which were all in the room
asking me question to determine my well being disgusted me.
I've decided to really work hard on my idea/building on existing invention.

It's truly disgusting depending on somebody else for your well being.
This gig was 80-110k salary range which would have changed my situation,
but having to work everyholiday would be extremely wack. I don't really enjoy tight
knit departmentseither with 3-4 employees asking me questions day long
so it's most likely a good thing. Plus there HR department was terrible
and forgot to tell the hiring manager I was downstairs waiting to be
interviewed.

I'm not really salty, more like motivated because the day I don't have
to work for anyone and pull my own legit salary will be a great day!

While I'm working towards my goal, I'd really like to find a gig that is in high
demand, without risking personal health of course. Everything really points towards
the IT fields.If you type in Environmental Health and Safety in the DMV area,
you either getusajob gigs which is a complete troll IMO, or evtremely low
paying jobs in the field.

Had to vent, stay up people!

I tried to get a gig when I was in NYC in Miami/Orlando, it's hard as ****. You got 2 degrees but if you don't have experience and looking for entry level... it's a long shot.

Assuming you're going for big cities like Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, etc. they got plenty of qualified people already living there so why care about you, who is thousands of miles away?

It seems like these career relocation things either happen to people in HIGHLY specialized fields or people with a lot of experience.

The only thing you can do other than move is to put an out of state address on your resume. If you dont have family or friends, just pick a random one lol

I used my girls address and just made something up when people called me about why I was in NY but you can Skype but you will at some point need to fly out there for an interview if you want them to think you live there.

Also, forget about relocation money in this day and age but anything is possible.

Wish I could tell you something better but this is from past (and present) experience, getting a job out of state is a pain in the *** and a half :frown:
