Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Got a job interview today. Im mad nervous and i dont know why lol. I really hope i get this job cause my savings is hurting.
 
Need help trying to get something in ATL. Something involving healthcare. Gotta Masters in OT. Having a hard time passing the boards..

If you would work at either location then I wouldnt press it but if it does matter then when they bring it up just mention that you wanted to work in nyc. I've seen some firms just mess up small things like the location for a job application before so it's not something they'll be defensive about.

Appreciate the advice breh. I would work at either location no problem, just Jersey would be way more convenient for me.

For me, it's pretty laid back. I work as a six sigma black belt so I work full-time on projects. My work is pretty much stop and go, some days I'll be busy and other days I'll spend alot of time on NT lol. But there's alot of different fields within supply chain so work-life balance and the type of experience you get can vary depending on what field you're in.

Long-term it's a good field to go into as more companies are putting alot of resources into supply chain to streamline their processes/cut costs.

It depends on the location. If its a busy branch it is stress city and hell on earth. If the branch is dead then its usually not too bad.
 
^^I don't know what it is but I've struck out and have been getting a few dead ends the last year or so. Amazon hit me up literally
a hour after I submitted my resume for a gig, got the interview the same week. Just got notified I didn't get the job...smfh. Would
have cut my commute by 40 minutes. I'm really just trying to get a job in the city I live in with good pay and benefits, which is
turning out to be extremely hard.

This city lacks jobs, and my degree I'm realizing is not really bankable in many areas. I'm in the process of switching to programming
but it would be great to avoid this disaster of commute in the DMV. I've had 3 interviews, and got rejected by 2 and I turned down the
other one. This move to the east coast has been ehh , man. :smh:

Don't give up man, it's just a numbers game and you'll eventually hit on a job. What's your degree in? What career are you looking to go into? If you're looking to go into programming, there's plenty of free resources online such as codeacademy.com (No need to get a degree or any formal education really in computer science/programming if that's where you'd like to work in)
 
got a job offer for 14.50/hr

pretty weak salary for a 2009 college grad, and few years experience. only perk is its right next to me.

the struggle is real :x
 
I finally got a interview with a Oil and Gas company here in Midland after 3 weeks since relocating here from Houston.... I'm excited and after the numerous staffing agencies and endless job applications, I hope I land this gig... Wish me luck!

Appreciate the advice, I have a environmental studies degree. Been working in the environmental health and safety field, and quite frankly I'm done. I'm aiming for front-end, back-end developer. Really like ruby and interested in learning more.

Been doing teamtreehouse for awhile which is a great resource. I do Code Academy on the side also. I'm enjoying gall the resources on the net.

Really I'm just looking for a gig close to the city, while I switch careers.

Gotcha. Definitely seems like you're already on the right track so idk what advice to give you Lol. But if you haven't made a LinkedIn profile yet, definitely do so as recruiters basically bombard programmers on linkedin with job offers/interviews from what I've heard.
 
received an offer from a logistics company yesterday And im pretty sure i will land an offer from northwestern mutual Monday. Left my job as a sales consultant for a mercedes dealer three weeks ago and already got offers lawd bless him
