Hey, been out of a job since last year February...did a few labor gigs but couldn't work withthe +$$%%@%+ that they placed me with.....now there aren't even those crappy day labor jobs available....been on mad interviews with recruiters, but allthey seem to be doing is trying to fill their weekly quota. I've gone on a few interviews which I smashed, but I always get the "you don't haveenough experience line or you are over qualified for this entry level position". @%!*....it's hard as hell out here right now...and I know itwon't get any better...I interviewed with a company today and have a 2nd interview Friday, but the job isn't at all what I want to be doing, money isgood, but I will be miserable if I get it....I've considered moving again but its the same *#+$ everywhere.....

Share your story....I want to know I aint alone

I was just in the same boat a week ago. You just gotta keep grindin' and you'll find something somewhere. I just got a two month gig that will give me60 hrs/week. It's great because it will give me a few grand in my pocket and some more time to find something else.
You just gotta keep looking and do all the menial jobs you can in hopes to build your resume.

quitted my pos job bacc in april of last year...they paid me @%%%, the job was @%%%, but i got paid every week and i was 18 with no bills so @%%% it wasaight....quitted, chilled, things was aight til i %***+# up and decided to live off credit cards and financial aid...i have no money coming in (with theexpection of my refund checc last week)....got 2 accounts in collections; one credit card and a overdrawn bank account. had 2 opportunities to work in a 3 dayperiod paying 10$+ a hour but couldnt take it cause of my schedule with school....money is getting tight and im bout to throw the mask on

@%%% needs to let up

Everyone just keep your head up. I'm currently in graduate school but been on several interviews and as soon as I land a job/career I'm postponingschool. The job market here Atlanta across ALL sectors is terrible. I have a friend of mine who has his MBA with several years of experience and has been outof work for several months and is having a hard time understanding why he can't find work. Stay the course my fellow NTers we will make it.

not exactly but I'm tired of sitting around job searching all day

Anybody live in Atlanta that are finance/business majors my former company is hiring people that fit that background. I graduated with a degree in Biology(smh)and if anyone knows of a job(s) pertaining to that major hit me up at bkennebr06@yahoo.com. Let's turn this into some type of networking tool.

got laid off 2 weeks ago

hate being bored tryin not to check NT every 10 second lol

I got laid off last month from Macy's. They hired 4 people and not me.

Went in there the other day and asked my old manager if he's gonna hire more he was like maybe in a few weeks I'll give you a call.

Yesterday I was looking for a job on craigslist. I found like 3 driving/delivery jobs. I replied to sent my resume, and one of the places called me like halfhour later
eek.gif
and asked can you come to a interview at 8:15pm I was likeyea even though I desperately in need of a haircut. And the posting didn't have a number or name of address or any info about the company. So I go it andthis older guy walks out and I'm in the car like 20 mins early. They interview me on the street. Didn't drill me with questions or nothing. Turns outits these 2 guys that are like Pakistani and they sell Pakistani and other ethnic foods to stores and Farmers Markets. They were really cool and laid backyoung guys.(no

)The guy that came before me for a interview, theysaid he was a retired Cal Berkeley referee, and could get them tickets to all the games so they hired him

But they asked if I'd work Farmers Market for around $80 cash a day. I'd rather be a driver I said but who knows I'd try it out. He saidhe'd give me a call by Friday.

This other restaurant hit me back and wants me to come in for a interview tomorrow or Fri.

So we'll see

i'm waiting to hear from a job in tx (i live in nc). currently waiting tables at a japanese restaurant making peanuts. i had a pretty kush job with philipmorris as a sales rep but they dropped 8 of my coworkers, putting them on some sort of waitlist (they didnt want to call it a layoff), so that meant i had todrive 600 miles a week covering 5 counties bc my territory expanded. needless to say i was pretty much forced to quit cuz i was putting in 60 to 80 hour weeksand nodding off at the wheel.

if youre applying for jobs, do research on the company so you can prep for interview. it helps to know wat exactly the job position entails so you can cateryour resume to include relevant info that applies directly to that job title.

good luck everyone, i'm getting married in may and i'm broke as hell.

My job is hiring in the ben salem, pa area
ny/nj area
and boston areas

Finance/accounting/econ backgrounds ... i work for the gov't thas all i'm willing to say

don't mean to come off rude or nothing and my fault for lack of detail also b/c of what i do, and i'm not trying to recommend people that i reallydon't know like that, but if i were in the same situation i wouldn't mind some help
