Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Just lowered my hours at my retail job. It's time to get focused on a career and not just a dead end job.

Is it just me or do you guys hate second interviews? I had my first second interview last Tuesday and it was short as hell. Literally only 7-9 mins long... and it was really awkward... i dont think she knew how to ran her interviews. But anyways I'm pretty sure its a bad sign and she said "HR will contact you in couple of weeks". Thankfully I got called for another second interview for logistics company for HR personnel which i really wanted in the first place and hopefully that goes well on Monday. Idk second interviews are weird to me... like you asked so many questions already about me and why need to cal me in for more? Ugh hate corporate america.

I know how you feel. In college, I hated when I had to go to 2nd interviews for internships, especially when it was in the city and I had to spend $30 for a round trip train ticket.

Did you end up getting that internship? because from what i heard if they all you for second interview you are pretty much 75% in or something. Sadly it didnt apply to me in the past lol

Hang in there brah's.

I'm with you on this.

Eventually everyone in here will prosper.

Have faith in the process and more importantly yourself.

Yes but it was an unpaid internship which made it even worse Lol.

I had two interviews for my current job. First was technical, second was behavioral and then them telling me about benefits.

What you mean behavior can you go in more depth?

First interview was a weed out interview, to make sure I knew my technicals relates to the job..second interview I was just asked questions to see if I would be a good fit. Strengths and weaknesses, etc...simple stuff.

Depending on the industry and position, if you make it to the second round you're good unless you screw up.

All 2nd interviews are different for each company.

I had a second interview last week, but it was literally the 1st interview redone. The only difference was, the president of the company asked me all the same questions.

Of course, he was just vetting me to see what I was about. Unfortunately, I ended up not getting the position :frown:

Keep swinging boys.

Got a call today for an interview on next Tuesday but it was for a part time gig. Can't do that with graduate at the end of the semester. Would have to be a last last option for me to take

Thoughts needed from NT.

Basically the place I work at right now, I'm about to be promoted to supervisor. But the thing is that I'm stuck on the 2nd/3rd shift and basically do all the work since everyone is legit lazy. Not to mention I usually work 4pm-12:30am. I've brought up issues to my boss but nothing gets done. Now I have an opportunity to move to a different location, but would start off where I am right now. The hours are better and would allow me to do more productive things during the day. But I wouldn't be getting the raise, I'm about to get. Would you leave and get paid what you started at or stay and get a raise but have to continue to do all the work?

Thanks for any input!

I would say take the other job. If you doing all the work already just imagine how it may be if you take the promotion. You basically laid it all out for yourself. Better hours, work that will keep you productive, and don't have to deal with all of the lazy people.

Well as I thought my first second interview just sent me a rejection letter. Hopefully my other second interview with another company went well. Should be expecting a call today or tomorrow... God I really want This position. I'm so tired of filling job apps after job app

Got a offer from Extrerran today as a Inventory Specialist... I was only jobless for a little over a month... Im super excited and mesh well with my new boss... The pay is pretty good for Midland standards with the price of living similar to Cali right now.... Keep pushing and applying everywhere... it can happen for you...

I would take the promotion, just so you can get that supervisory experience and pay raise. Then start applying/ interviewing for another supervisory job or better after 6 months.

I would take the day shift position. If its the typical dayshift, it will have more responsibility and a regular day shift guy would have more experience than a 2nd or 3rd shift supervisor. Sounds like you are being promoted due to being the only person that produces. I would rather be promoted among folks that also produce. Then I would have been the cream that rose to the top. Plus, it would make you a far better producer.

I always saw day shift as the money makers, other shifts just do what day shift couldn't finish.

At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself, what will make you happy.
