Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Turned down an offer from a firm in Pittsburgh. I really need this place I interviewed with in jersey to come through so I can finally flourish and stay around my fam
You and me both. Thats the dream right there to be able to move back to Jersey and live my life.

Ay man we just gotta keep pushing and have a positive outlook on the situation. Nothing but positive vibes for my NT fam

Thoughts needed from NT.

Basically the place I work at right now, I'm about to be promoted to supervisor. But the thing is that I'm stuck on the 2nd/3rd shift and basically do all the work since everyone is legit lazy. Not to mention I usually work 4pm-12:30am. I've brought up issues to my boss but nothing gets done. Now I have an opportunity to move to a different location, but would start off where I am right now. The hours are better and would allow me to do more productive things during the day. But I wouldn't be getting the raise, I'm about to get. Would you leave and get paid what you started at or stay and get a raise but have to continue to do all the work?

Thanks for any input!
I'd say strike while the iron is hot .
Missed out on a job but I bounced back well.

For the most part just compare it from stress levels ,if your shift at the other job holds their weight that's less pressure on you.

Of course you won't know unless you risk it.

Good luck

Pretty much

I thought about taking that same approach but keep chickening out. The feeling of no income is scary

Thats what the trap money is for pleighboy. Anywho, i had drinks with the CEO of Northwestern Mutuals in my state last nignt and they really want me onboard. Just don't know if I should accept the logistics job that is base plus commission or NM who only pays commission but I could make bank.

My second interview company just replied back to my Thank you letter. and they offered me a job!!!!. Im so glad i quit all my past jobs and waited for the right one. I wanted a career in Human Resources and now i got one . Damn cant wait to work!!!! its about time

Congrats dude 2015 is looking good for alot people in this thread. My time will come
Sure enough. I posted a while back about getting hired but it was for a Freight Forwarder at a logistic company which I took the job just for the money. My career goal has always been a HR manager, money alone wasn't really enough for me to keep going to work so i quit within 3 days. A week later I got hired at some automotive part seller company as a Data Entry clerk. I also quit that job in a week . Its ridiculous I know, but I am so glad I quit all those jobs and decided to pursue my career as opposed to just work for the money and I could not be happier. I have full health, dental, vision and 401k after 1 month and higher pay with this future company. Just be patient man... during the job search period I was depressed, lonely, and my self esteem was going down the drain.. just hang on there and you'll get yours too.

Congrats man, happy to hear you're in your dream job [emoji]128526[/emoji]

Got the other job offer from northwestern mutual as a financial representative. I also received a job offer from a logistics company in the sales department. Bad thing is I have until tomorrow to accept the logistics job offer and until wednnesday for the northwestern offer. Essentially i have until tomorrow to decide.

***** Tough decisions man what would you guys do? im excited for the opportunity ohlehdoit

What are the pays for both job?

Realistically you should have a better career as financial rep tho.

Financial rep is all commission the first year, I think

Aw man i wouldn't feel comfortable taking commission job at all. Usually they're scams or they work you like dogs and dont give you any respect. I'll always choose a job that will have a base salary for me.

I would take the logistics job.

With financial advisory jobs, you're typically asked to go through your personal network as your 'leads' and it can be tiresome asking all your friends and family to buy your life insurance. The money can be VERY good in financial advisory (6-figures while working less than 30 hours a week) but you have to be one of the top advisors to make bank and you have to put in alot of time and work in the beginning with no guarantee of success.

On the other hand, if you do sales for the logistics company, there's a lower ceiling in terms of pay but there's a much higher floor so it's less risky. Another benefit is that the skillset you gain from working for a logistics company is alot more transferable than what you would learn at Northwestern Mutual.

I remember your post about the logistic company.  Glad you got into the field you wanted.  I was looking into HR also but I don't know if I have the right qualities for it.

I'm good friends with 2 sales guys at my old company.  One is doing six figures annually and the other one barely breaks the mim. commission each month.  The base pay is 40k-60k I think.

The one doing six figures has been in the business for 10+ years and build up a large client base... he was once the regional sales manager on the east coast but his situation changed.

Just know you'll be working with a lot of international ppl so the language barrier might be a challenge when things don't go as planned.

Started my logistics job this past Monday and its fire. Definitely gonna learn the industry and try to open up a 3rd logistics party.

I begin training for my new job (lg marketing rep) on monday. I'll be in Atlanta for a week, but the actual job is in San Antonio, which is whrre I am now trying to find an apartment. I have a broken lease from 2013 and it's very challenging finding a decent location that will work with you. My last 12 months of rental has been perfect, never late. Regarding the complex I applied to today, I make about 4 times the rent, they need to look past that mess from a few years back and see that I'm on the right track now, smh. I showed up in my military uniform when I applied, this is a big military town so I hope I can use that to my advantage.

Look at har.com and Craigslist for rentals. try to rent from individuals instead of complexes.

I was sent a part time job offer that I think some of you may be interested in.

Sounds like a good job to have if you're in the DMV, like teaching children, like video games and technology, have your own car and need some extra cash.

Apply if you're interested or feel free to pass the information along to some else who is.

Had an interview they asked for a copy of my drivers liscene and social security card is that a good sign? I know most companies don't want a copy of ssi card unless you get the job.
