Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Bros anyone in here do resumes ?

I have an "ethnic" name
I love my name but the people from hiring place might not

anyway thinking about changing it and going with DJ or ARI
i guess which one looks more pleasing?

Make up a alias name. I use my alias on applications because my birth name has no substance.

i mustve applied to over 50 jobs in the last month, got one interview at a law firm but nothing else after that. Going to check out an unemployment centre tomorrow. Starting to get discouraged

Same here bro. I'm trying to keep my head up looking for engineering firms but a lot of these positions seem iffy because they're doing the budget for the year around this time. All we can do is be patient and persistant

I'm in finance and don't know how much help I can be, but I'm more than happy to help out fellow NT brethren with their resumes.

Shoot me a PM.

I'm still at it myself, looking for something new in DC or something close with better hours. It's a crazy game out here still! Would really like to get something before the summer.

Yo what type of living arrangements are your standard for apartments. I was thinking about getting this to bedroom in SE DC for $1000 but the unit was not modern.

Currently living in bmore but I was looking at some completely new apartments in SE across the bridge on Benning called Park7. Rent is around 1100,a month FYI. I saw something about rent application so not sure if there are income requirements.

Hmmmm looks like only studios are available for right now but everything else looks good. I also would need to see if the apartment is income restricted

I'm thinking it is, I read it somewhere on the website. I'm going to call them and see whats up. I literally work across the bridge
and I only need a studio. The income restrictions could mess me up, if its true.

I think one of the saddest things about anyone who goes to college and thinking once done they will have a job waiting for them its different when "YOU" arent the job creator and you dont have a parallel economy that is going along with the corporate economy.. which is why some demographic groups have a higher unemployement rate..

You have to be strategic with your education more than ever. Almost down to the plotting and following of trends very
early in your path. Nothing is a guarantee but some path's allow for more opportunities and growth.

right and thats because not every group has a parellel economy.. key example asians never have a high unemployment rate because they have their own parelell economy.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Any success stories in here for anyone who had a long stretch of unemployment after graduation? Any light can help man....

What parallel economy is this? I worked at university for 5 years and 99.9% of the Asians there were pursuing their parents dream of becoming doctors. There was one outlier studying music and she changed from medical to music after her 1st year. Parents cut her off but she was so good in music the school decided give her a full ride And tuition was 30k.

The Asian economy in Houston is divided among the Vietimese and Koreans. Veitemese got the resturants and the Koreans got the beauty salons. They both have their corresponding blue color folk. None of which you need a 4 yr degree.

From my experience asians attend college to go somewhere in the medical. Most realize at some point they are living their parents dream and do something else.

I have a friend who was unemployed after graduation for 6 months, math major couldn't seem to figure Out why he wasn't getting any offers. Was trying to go actuary route Even passes two tests. He really loves basketball so he found a job doing sports analytics. So math and basketball is his job. Moral of the story is don't take a job just to take it, know your interests and maybe you'll find something you like. PM if you need guidance, didn't land my job after 7 months of applying and found our 3 days before graduating.
