Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

i quit my job a month ago ive had 3 calls 2 interviews and no job offers, tell me im wrong for feeling guilty for leaving a job i hated without finding a new one first

I did this, and started feeling the pain after it took longer than usual. But I eventually found a decent gig, much more low key and less stressful and paying more. Sometimes you just gotta jump out there on faith.

Maybe I should've taken a leap of faith last year when I my job suddenly became a dead end. Now I'm possibly (likely) going to be laid off in June

Congratulations!
Thank you! There were a lot of times where doubt crept in and a lot of negative thinking which lead to unhappy times. Just have to push through those tough times and see the light at the end of the tunnel. NO MATTER how dark it is. Just push through. Hoping this helps out others that are facing the same situation.

Just got "fired" because i arrived to a quarterly business review meeting 2 minutes late, been with the company two years and man this is a burning feeling. I never been fired from anything before and I just moved into this new apartment complex about a month ago. Bruhs im willing to do anything even Uber, please send good vibes my way.

I live in Houston now from New York and I have a BA in Accounting and Information systems. Worked two years for MattressFirm's corporate office just to get burned.

This is one of the only times I'm glad I'm a union worker. That would never fly with the union ever!

anyone here work a full time job and still do some p/t on the weekends? looking for something to do on the weekend and earn some cash and occupy my time. just looking for some interesting/fun gigs.

Interviews and natural hair? I can't believe I'm actually thinking about this but I have a interview on Thursday
and I've been using the nudred to style it for the past couple months. I haven't used a pick/comb in forever. I'm
debating what I should do. I'm going to get a line up but should I just comb it out to a mini fro for the interview
and continue with the nudred after for a more " clean" look?

So lame that I even have to think about this, but I understand what I'm dealing with out in the job market, and
and anything can scrap your chances especially being a black male.

What do you guys think? This job would make my commute like years easier, even though it's less pay.
I would basically free up my commute/stress so I can actually spend time working on a business on the side.

My brother had a fade and used the nudred to style up top, and before his interview I honestly told him to cut it all off and he did. It was worth it being that the job he was going for was for substantially more money. He ended up getting the job and nows in the process of growing it back. I've always gotten the caesar and shaved all facial hair off. IDK how much you're in love with your hair but the safest route is to cut it all off but I wouldnt blame you if you didnt. I see people inside offices with that style of hair all the time nowadays.

To piggyback off an earlier conversation after my last round of interviews I sent out thank you letters and to my surprise some of the interviewers actually responded to them. Makes me feel like I made the right decision in sending them, and now I just have a word document with 8 of them saved and will keep tweaking them as time goes on.

got me a job at eby brown this morning, $10 an hour, 6am-11:30am monday through friday, the employee reviews on indeed and glassdoor are trash but im struggling

Don't know how attached you are to your hair, but it's probably best to cut it. I can be attached to my hair at times and would choose nu dred look over a fro If cutting it weren't an option

osek206 osek206 for usajobs are you using your regular resume or the federal one the sites wants you to fill out?

Yep decided to read up and learned how the format for USAjobs works. Still in the waiting process for a job I applied for.

Looks like I'm going to rock a mini for to the interview lined up. I cut my hair for one gig I was super qualified for but the management was terrible. Have been passed ever since, that I let that lame job influence my decision.

My company is merging with another one. Got a sick feeling I'm going to be made redundant as the other company has a person that does what I do, but with a ton more experience. Predicting that I'll be back in this thread soon

So I interviewed for 2 jobs on the 15th of this month, I sent a personal thank you note to one and an email to the other. The HR manager for one of the companies(the one I sent a personal thank you note to) followed up with me the following Monday to see how things went. I'm wondering if I should follow up again? Or is that too much? I was thinking about giving a personal call to the other company that didn't I haven't heard from yet. Thoughts? TIA

Got an interview with the Foot Locker Regional HR Director Tim Kranez

Interview with the USPS and interview with the boat all next week.

Wish me luck bros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Follow up with both. I've never been shy about following up with companies. Especially with the second company two weeks is a long time man.
