I'm going to be fired from my job really soon. My quarterly review isn't until the end of March, but I'm at wits end with my job and if I quit Iwon't be eligible for unemployment benefits. I promised myself this would be the last 'wack' job I'll have so I'm going to take my timefinding my next gig. It's going to be a struggle having to survive on next to nothing (especially considering my lifestyle) but I'm kind of lookingforward to what's next given that I really have no clue...

Tell me about it. 2 years ago i was in the mind-frame that i would never wait tables. i was like 'i'm not about to be pickin up dirtydishes and rakin them out, that's gross'. Been workin in a restaurant since February of last year. I don't make very much, and I work pretty hard. It SUCKS having to work pretty much every single weekend. I have a college degree also (Stillman College; May 05'; Fine Arts Major), i really want to dosomething dealing with being on TV, but I'm not even sure what options i have. I live in Mobile, AL and the job market is hurting down here. I wasseriously considering moving to Texas.

I've had sooooooooooooooooooooooo many jobs since I've graduated. Some i wish i still had. Am I the only one that feels like online sites: Monster, careerbuilder, hotjobs and especially craigslist are pointless? i apply to tons of jobs and never get any feedback. I may need to improve my resume.

Someone earlier mentioned the Air Force and I am heavily considering that. My girl is in basic training now, and I may go in April. My dad has been tryin toget me to go for YEARS, it seems to be a legit plan.

Serious Question: Do any of you know exactly what it is that you want to do for a living?

International Studies of Economics major, basically finance stuff graduated Jun 08 still unemployed

South City is where I live those Bio jobs are hard to come by, enjoy that job man!

I just wanted to check in. It's not that I got laid off or anything... I just quit my job back in summer 07 because I got into the respiratory therapyprogram in my local college. Currently, I'm still in school but slated to graduate this summer. I say, if I don't have a job by this fall, then I'mgoing to be in trouble.

Got an interview with Dell (Austin, Texas) tuesday,

Interview with Merrill Lynch (Houston, Texas) on March 7th

An interview with Baker Hughes(Houston) around the end of April

And an interview with Gexpro (Houston) on March 6th.

Wish me luck NT... I'm seriously hustling my tail off so I won't have to sit at home and watch TV ALL-DAY-LONG this summer.

man directv laid me off sept 07 got a job at publix and was told they were cutting and i was one of the 5 ppl..
by next month i'll have no job= cant pay for school, credit cards.. and i've been applying to mad places since nov. and nothing..absolutly nothing..

Got laid off without being laid off back in September. Having a car note and no money isnt a good look.

Anyone in the Portland area know of any places hiring?

been living off unemployment checks for 2 months. its money but its not enough. been applying for jobs online, looking everyday, still no call backs. its realhard right now.

Currently working but things are so bad that i'm just waiting to be let go.

A quick question for ya'll, when sending out emails do you paste your resume, upload and send, or do both?

Also...would anybody be willing to look over my resume? I think it's good, I have more than enough exp, but I never get any calls.

P.S. Online applications FTL.

-- Been doing construction since I was 15, got laid off last fall and have been keeping my head out of water by dipping in savings. Did mostly commercialwork, no one is buying, renting, or renovating space; Which in turn is leaving me jobless. Damn shame out there.

working at retail and still getting about 30 hours a week...they got rid of MAD people......i be feeling horrible about my old comrades out of a job because itcould've happened to me any time.
