Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

I feel like I didn't get the job if they don't reply back.

Said **** it today and called to thank him too. This was a big time engineering firm so I wasnt about to miss the boat off chance and be upset.

Hiring Manager said he was glad I called a week later aside from the email and it shows im pro-active. Said none of the other engineers did what I did and hes gonna try and get me in. Said he has already fwd me to the senior and is just waiting.
Good **** dude!

Think the interview went well. Dude told me I should hear back from HR in the next couple days. Hope so, so happy to be out of retail and be on a 9-5.

Side note, I did a phone interview last week with an recruiter for this logistics job. She said the hiring manager is short handed and slow to respond to her so it will take two weeks for her to get back with me on the opportunity for aface to face interview. Going to give her a call today and see what the decision with the HM.

Nice hustle. It seems like you bucked the trend of typical engineer dudes being super awkward.

Or at least that was my experience meeting them.

You ain't even lying . These engineering dudes are very akward with no personality. I don't even know how they work in teams or on projects.

What do you guys think about applying to positions in other departments in your company? A department that you may not have a background in but you are interested in applying

just do it.

if I would have been proactive about that, I still would have a job

Already on week 2 of my job of being a senior home caregiver and my office already changed my client 3 times.... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The scary part is I'm planning to become a nurse but now I'm starting to have second thoughts. This is really depressing me.

Congrats.

Care to share any details about the role / pay / interview process for other NT fam?
Sure. Capital One as a part-time teller, starting me off at $14/hr, and I'll be getting between 25-30 hrs. Said they will keep me updated on when anything full time opens, but I just wanted my foot in the door at a company that will give me opportunities for promotion and growth. Interview process was pretty simple actually, first step was an online interview with automated questions, then you record your answers. Heard back from HR within two days of doing that to set up a face to face interview with the branch manager. Went in on Monday of this week to do that, and it was hardly an interview, just going over the job description, my qualifications, and answered my questions. HR contacted me on Tuesday and set up a meeting for the District Manager and I this morning, that meeting was much like the initial one with the branch manager, just going over the job and what to expect, my education, etc. They e-mailed me this afternoon with the job offer. From applying until today, all went down in about two weeks.

GREAT to hear when people are winning in the Job market, when the news is reporting that numbers are down from September. Congratulations

Have they told you why? If not, ask...

Interviewed with this company via telephone back in May. They told me to contact them when I got closer to graduation and now I am so I reached out and called and sent my resume. The HR lady responded with this....seems legit or nah?

Thanks so much for sending your resume. I have put it in front of several people here and am waiting to get some feedback.  Please be patient, as there is definitely interest but these things often take some time to sort through.   I will be in touch but if you haven’t heard anything from me within a week please give me a call and nudge me.

Lace me with some good ideas on how to get  paid under the table?

For the first guy they didn't tell me the whole truth, just sugar coated it. I think they're afraid of offending me or something. I also don't even like the girl at the front desk who makes the schedules. Already on her bad side and don't know why either lol.

Why would HR check references twice? Is this a good or bad thing. Interview went amazing. But they checked my references the week after the interview and now a week later they called them again.

Sounds like an inefficient HR department (no surprise there).

A good HR department would just get the reference checks done in one fell swoop.

"Did @TheKid3456 work at your firm from X date to Y date in Z role?" Yes? Done.
