Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Mines up on indeed but I don't get a hit unless I apply for something and the recruiter will suggest another job in the company.

Monster is trash now. Indeed is clutch if you are engineering as well as ZipRecruiter.

Btw if there are any engineers in here Samsung Austin Semiconductors in Austin, Texas is hiring a lot right now. They have a bunch of open new hire positions.

I use indeed, every time I update my resume, I get calls from staffing or marketing firms :smh: Monster hasn't popped in a minute. What do you dudes LinkedIn profiles look like?

Monster is the worst of them, Career Builder is OK.

My linked in is slightly above the bare minimum, I've heard stories of people flourishing through it but I personally have not so I just couldn't get behind it.

Yea, my LinkedIn a lil more descriptive since I've been linking w/ more people in my area that I knew from college but I'm just removed from a lot of it.

Anyone ever worked as a sales rep at ATT, Sprint, T-mobile, etc. I currently work for a cell phone provider call center and when I went to get my service activated on my own with T-Mobile the sales rep gave me her card and told me about the job opportunities. I recently got a promotion (I'd say I'm pretty good at my job), but I wouldn't mind working one on one with customers. Especially on a commission basis. Thanks if anyone can shed some light on that kind of work environment.

So I had a video interview with a healthcare company about a week ago. Thanks fellas for the tips btw. Little under a week went by after the video interview so I decided to shoot the HR manager a thank you email. He calls me right after saying perfect timing & scheduled a face to face for this past Monday. I get there & they scrutinize the hell outta me about everything from school (I graduate in Dec.) to where I live (the job is an hour away from me). Answered a couple questions wrong that I knew damn well I knew a better answer to :smh: I'm terrible at interviewing as I'm not much of a talker. Said I'll know something by the end of the week, don't know if I'm overreacting but I'm trying to stay positive. I need this. Just had to vent for a min.

Wouldnt even want to work for someone scrutinizing me DURING an interview. Hopefully you do get it. You never know...waiting game after an in person sucks

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I trust you have multiple potential leads / other positions you're gunning for.

I wouldn't call it scrutinizing when they ask where you live. Its a legit question because of the commute time, how reliable can you be in terms of showing up on time and in the event of inclement weather would it prevent you from coming in. I've interviewed for jobs that I'm 30 minutes away from and my location is always brought up. Don't sweat those questions.

I just applied to a job at At&t and verizon? Is it possible to shed light on yall convo because my questions may be similar.

stay positive everyone. Last year, I was making 30k/yr and now I'm making well over double that.

improve on your resumes, practice behavioral questions days before your interview, apply to jobs that you feel you may have no chance in getting (this is the best way to get a huge jump in salary). The place I currently work for asked for 2 years of specific exp, but they still hired me with 0 years of exp. I think it did help that I was young, had an awesome interview with well formulated answers that I practiced for days, and had a few months of similar exp but not specific. You never know. good luck to all

I know this is a very subjective question, but I want to hear some of y'all opinions. What do you think is considered a good starting hourly pay? In other words what's the lowest minimum hourly pay would you guys ever accept?

What is your background? Are you in college?

Give us more details.

My professor always said when the companies ask for in exp is more of a want and you should still apply
