Dear NT Producers

I dont consider myself a producer, its just something I do for fun and a little change her and there. But, if you're not growing you're dying.

Its just not fair ..smh) basically was hannen to all my NT producers minus that lame Jape Beats cat…

It's been a minute since I've posted anything production wise in the music forum. There is defiantly a reason for this though. I haven't made a beat in a little over 2 months… That is probably the longest break I've taken in a little over seven years. I have been sitting back and listening to material I created from 04 through 08 and while I am astonished by my progression I am thoroughly disappointed with my consistency.

I feel as if I only make beats that cater either to my region or plays to my strengths (heavy synths or brass or whatever). So much so that making music isn't fun for me anymore. Its become more of a job. Well this week I started doing some research, I've been listening to A LOT of techno and Spanish reggae (Reggaeton). I have a few tracks in the works and im going to need some feedback pretty soon. Basically I wanted to see if anyone else who produces has decided to expand there current repertoire. If so, in what way and do you have anything you can show us…

Good luck to all my NT producers who continue to push the current trend.
To be honest, I don't even let it become an issue. I try my best to make my sound or my style of play blend will in to that projected style orthat requested style on the track. What is your work flow? Also, try experimenting too...I did some exploring and found some stuff that I ended up using.

yeah thats basically what I do. I start going through my fantom for sounds i've made, sometimes I tweak them even more, then build off that. i am a sampler though; I like sampling better.

No.

thanks for telling me the programs.

Your 'No' was obviously a failed attempt at humor. Its all good though, God loves you.

to Club29:
There is a thread in the music forum that I recommend you read through some of, it may help you get a better idea of what's involved in making beats, so you can get an idea of what you're getting yourself into.
Will do, thanks for the heads up.

For me, if I want my music to sound different then I gotta start off different....normally I look for a good sample, or just play a melody until I getsomething that I think sounds good. But if I'm trying to go somewhere else, then I gotta start off in a way that I normally don't do. I won't loadup my usual drum kit and synths. I'll load up some sounds that I never touch, or I'll loop up something that I really ain't feeling and see if Ican muscle something out of it. It's like to get somewhere different you gotta take a different road.
For me, the bad part about experimenting is, it's hard to gauge if it sounds good or not. some of the beats I hate people feel, some of the beats I lovepeople look right past it.
