It's been too long!  Background: the trainer III is my favorite non-Jordan sneaker.  My parents bought me my first pair of trainer III's more than 10 years ago and I've been hunting them down ever since.  I'm up to 10 pairs now and still lookin for more.

my latest pickup. So lucky to find them on ebay!

Great stuff guys.. Just remember the lifespan on some of these is shorter than you may think. I had a early retros midsole foam crack on me recently. It threw me into a tailspin. Unless you plan to collect them, wear every single pre 2002 pair within the next year. Visible air trainers should be under even more caution.

I honestly don't know if I should even bother giving it another wear. I LOVE these but I don't like owning shoes I can't wear

but the cracking is just cosmetic right? like the soles arent going to fall apart are they?

Is it cracking within the white horizontal design area of the midsole? The cracking will usually follow the ribbed design, so it's hard to see in picture form..

Aren't those escapes only from 2002-2003?

It's really quite the crap shoot. I had many 98-01 sc highs that were doing just fine, as of 2011.. Yet a 97 retro 3 years back crumbled on me.. Pairs you think will crumble, are fine. Some totally brand new ones which have never been worn are the vulnerable ones. Even then, some question how its stored, your wearing climate, and weight.

Even with many favorites out there ending for cheap, I have taken the ultimate hiatus from buying, and have just decided to wear up what I have this summer, and hopefully no more than 3 of them crumble on me.

I'm steppin' out of the shoe game for good, but before I go, I'm putting together a video series to document my favorite trainers

Probably one of my favorite customs I ever did. I agree, wish they would actually make the entire bo jackson trainer lineup in that colorway.

I used the white/navy colorway, I painted every part that is grey/black/green that you see. I used Luquitex acrylics with krylon matte finish on top. I didn't wear them, I sold them on ebay. That paint holds up fine for just walking around, but scuffs pretty ugly if you play basketball or tennis etc.
