New to this post but been restoring and collecting too long

Im gonna let yall take a sneak peek of my world....

...Now armed with Dawn dishsoap, a hard bristle brush, finger nail and bathroom sink ready....
After my hands dry, I usually stuff the shoes till the paper gets soggy from the shoe's moisture. I take the paper out and I let the shoes take air and dry. After they get really dry I stuff them with new paper and clean the few exterior spots i missed.

I scrubbed these lightly on the inside and heavy on the outside, on a warm day.
Not too heavy on the V's due to black suede, but i gently scrubbed the suede with cold water and did not soak them too much.

I bought some retrobrite the week before and took advantage of the sun. I live in NY and only did 1 session on the nets, and soles of the 5's for 3 hrs the most in OCT.

Let me know your honest opinion!

Should've used the same lighting for the before and after pics.. Good job though on those flints!

Yeah, I know! They were the OG pics from the listings, I work quick but I have some more drastics restorations I gotta put up. Im a barber so I like to see transformations

is the method of ironing a toebox with a damp washcloth in between truly effective in getting rid of creases?

also to repaint a toe box and a midsole on jordan 3's what is a good type of paint? if i need 2 different paints tell me please
You should use Angelus paint on the toe box it works very well with sneakers

How do i restore the kd v elite superhero sockliner? Mine (for some reason) seem to have faded out.

Is it the whole sock liner, or just at the heel? It could be from sweat if you wear low cut socks. I'd try cleaning the sock liner first with a light amount of oxyclean or some liquid detergent. Just make sure not to soak the area so it doesn't damage the inner lining, just enough to lightly dampen the liner. If that doesn't work and you wanna dye it, you can use angelus paint w a mixture of Golden GAC 900 fabric medium to redo it. But then it's gonna be a hassle to try and match the color exactly, plus if you've never done it, the process of heat setting to make sure it stays on the material and not on your sock/ankle...

Hi everyone. Any advice on how to clean the lining of He Got Games? The lining on mine has accumulated sweat and dirt. I'm not in the US though so store-bought shoe cleaners are not easily available. Thanks!

gotcha....great advice.

"PODS" was the word I was looking for in terms of describing the white rubber midsole...the rubber "panther pods" Yeah they need a re-coating LIKE BAD! messes the whole look of the shoe up to me when the pods looks all "grayish" and dull. FTR I have the 2010 edition of the Flints. It boggles me how the original owner screwed these up.

Same white paint or some different paint for specifically for rubber?

You can use the same white paint for the pods. I fixed up these flints for a guy who had hit me up and his toe box was scuffed up and the pods were trashed. I removed the creases and I didn't have to paint the whole toe box. I gave them a deep clean, then used Angelus paint mixed w/ duller and dabbed it on each spot that had marks. Then I gently rubbed the paint into the toe box until it covered the area and blended quite well in with the rest of the white. As you can see it came out pretty good without having to use much paint

For the pods, I cleaned them pretty well but they still looked a little yellow, so I used angelus paint w Golden GAC 900 fabric medium. I used the GAC because since the midsole flexes a lot and it's rubber, the paint would have to be redone often, and GAC minimizes that by giving it a bit more flex & durability. This is how they came out

Big difference from how I got them

On white liners, I like using OxyClean. You lightly dampen the liner so the material will take in the detergent, then use a toothbrush on the tongue and other parts of the liner. If you happen to soak it, just use some paper towels to grab as much of the moisture as possible, then either blow dry or let them air dry inside

Will other detergents work? Unfortunately the OxyClean brand is not available here in the Philippines.

If you can get a liquid detergent like Gain, give that a shot as well. I use that in cases where I want to clean and also freshen up the sockliner as well, and just follow the same steps as the Oxy Clean method

Question about storage: You mentioned Ziplock bags are terrible because of acidity and lack of air flow. As far as you know, are zippered vinyl bags a reasonable method for storage (Google: "vinyl bag with zipper")? Because of the plastic or metal zipper, the bag is not air tight. What about acidity though?

I appreciate your suggestions.

I wanna attempt to retro bright my piston 6s but when I made it and applied it for about 2 hours the same. Im guessing I didnt make it right I used oxi cornstarch and I could only get 3 percent peroxide

I only saved my few favorites, have away about 50 of em when I moved north. So much money spent on that collection lol

Lookin for a little help here. Wore some DS 2001 black n red XI retros and there is sole seperation. Not the sole from the white midsole but where the white midsole meets the patent leather. So the red sole and white midsole are still glued together. Is this fixable?

also, id rather find a place that does these repairs rather than try my own hand at it. Any sites that you can send in your kicks too and they fix em for you? any help is appreciated.

its sooooo easy though, why pay more than save time and money and the satisfaction that you saved your awesome shoe yourself!

Yea I'm sure I could probably do it but don't wanna risk gettin glue all over the patent and whatever else. Havnt done any restorations really before
