:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

What is the best glue for midsole swapping?I'm wanting to purchase my grails 1999 WC4 & midsole swap them for my first time doing it because it doesn't seem hard. I'm not trying to pay an extra $100 just to let someone do it. Only the repaint of the midsole would be the hard part. So what's the best glue & way to apply & let the glue sit method you guys use?

infinity barge cement

How should I apply it? I was watching restoremysneakers.com video do it (I wish they would come back) but they never fully did a tut on how to do it. Should I apply it wait like 5 min to let it set then apply then hold down with shoe laces?

The drying time from the Barge site catalog is 2-5min. Apply to both surface thinly and wait for couple min and then put them together and hold it for couple min or you could use shoe laces.

Anyone have some suggestions for boxes to put my shoes in? I have seen those plastic clear boxes, and then the normal tubs from target. Wondering what other storage solutions you guys have specifically for being able to stack the shoes without crushing the factory boxes.

Laying them all out on the floor is getting old since it takes up so much space. Thanks for any info.

^^these are what I use. I got mine form Costco in a pack of 8 for $18.69 (much cheaper obviously). I've been using them for over a year now

I get mine from Walmart. I only use plastic boxes when the cardboard ones are too broken down to stack. They're about $3-4, so they're definitely more expensive than Costco. On the same token, you're taking up a lot of space if you aren't using all 8 at once.

what did I get backwards lol?
Midsole swapping is NOT easy. That **** is an art. Takes alot of practice to get it right and have it look good.

Painting just takes a little patience and isn't nearly as difficult as a full swap. A steady hand (or some painters tape) and a few hours go a long way.

oh I see thanks for the advice. I saw a pair of 1999 WC4s that are beat and crumbling for about $50 so I might cop those and try to do a swap for my first try/practice. It's just when I saw restoremysneakers.com do a video of them doing it it doesn't seem that hard lol thanks

first time will be a pain as well as using the right glue. the hard part is lining them up right.

Yeah I'd definitely go for it if you can get em for that cheap. Just don't get your hopes up that you're gonna do a top notch job on your first try . Good luck :nthat:.

Anybody know how to get that super high glossy finish on the midsole of jordan 3 black flip?

i just copped my 1999 WC4s and i am pretty confident right now and will devote 1-3 days just trying to midsole swap them. I got one question though, How do you move an outsole from a nike flight 89? like i can see you use heat to remove the upper but how does the outsole come off from the doner midsole?

same process. heat gun, plier and a lot of force?

My gamma blue 12s are starting to have that dusty grey black suede look, would jason markk shoe cleaner fix that?

You don't HAVE to buy Jason markk you'll be good with the $5 footlocker suede cleaner and suede brush.

I picked up my jason mark today I tested it out on my 01 red and white xi lows. It did a good job on them next is cool gray xi. I'm a take before and after pics. When my phone is recharged. The store I got it from was out of the soft brush can I use the brush that comes with the eraser you clean timberland boots with.

well after long hours and meticulous work i finally finished these customs..i believe i could have done a better job but i guess is not bad for my first customs.

constructive criticism is welcomed.
