:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

Dumb question probably... But do you guys think wearing thicker socks makes your shoes wear in funny or stretch them out? Or is it probably fine?

wasn't able to get RIT whitener in the bottle and got the powder instead...mixed with detergent and warm water. so far...doesn't seem to be doing anything.

What are you trying to do? The bottle form is for mesh and the powder is for leather, etc. If you use the bottle form for leather, it can actually yellow the leather of the shoe. (personal experience)

Interesting.

Trying it out on my worn pair of the Cardinal 7s on the tongue. Tried it on one shoe. Didn't yellow nor whiten. Might have to order the liquid form instead. There is also a pinky nail size light yellow spot on the concord 11 I just picked up I want to remove hence trying it on the cardinal 7 mesh first.

It did clean up the sewn line tho.

Can't say dude didn't say so about the bottle on leather, but I thought maybe he was wrong lol. I never tried the powder form yet, so I don't know how good results are.

For leather:

This dude talks real quick about how the powder might be bad for mesh.

Also for mesh, you have to leave it out to dry for quite a bit of time. I recommend about 12 hours if not longer (just personal experience)

Another reason it might not be working for you is because from what I hear, the material on the Jordan 7 tongue is actually neoprene and not mesh. Neoprene is the same material as the clip on Jumpman thing right under the tongue of the Jordan 6.

I got some of that salon care volume creme. What are some good combo- creme+sea glow? or creme+oxy clean
or all 3?

dontbelikethat dontbelikethat

Yea, I watched a few of those videos and one if them one guy used the powder and had no issue with it. Anyway here's my worn Cardinal 7. I'm not sure if neoprene has anything to do with it, but it didn't seem to do anything. Compare to my DS pair these definitely has yellowed some what. The right shoe was washed and it pretty much looks the same as the left shoe lol

All three would be the most potent/best method, but since seaglow is expensive, most people just use salon care + oxy. If you can afford all three, by all means, do it.

Just recently stripped the paint on a pair of varsity red 6's everything when great except it looks like some paint bled to the soles itself. Anything to slear these back up? I tried acetone... No go.

Don't know how to help you and I would if I could, but I was wondering what did you use to strip the paint? I thought acetone was dangerous for those type of midsoles and can eat into them easily. Did you use acetone or something else?

I have a pair of 2002 raptor 7s that has major sole separation could anybody help or are these pretty much done for

Few tutorials. You probably will/might mess up if it's your first time, but after learning how to do it properly, life maintaining shoes will be that much easier.

Thanks! and you have any other other recommendations on glue? because that one is a little expensive. Probably will get that one if there aren't any really good choices.
