:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

going to be a long shot but whatever, anybody have advice on "saucing/seaglowing" jordan 6s specifically. i restore other shoes with clear bottoms no prob but jordan 6s always suck for me. i've tried a lot of different methods (retr0brite, salon care, salon care x oxy clean) etc results have always been minimal. Or what do you guys think some of the bigger restorers use (fabes sole/restore my sneakers/god of soles) i'm sure its just 40% creme developer but they must add something because i've seen fabes sole post restored 6's god of soles too.

any help appreciated pm in needed
Method is exactly the same as every shoe and all of thee different types of sauces are all pretty much the same thing like you said. To enhance the results, you can add oxyclean and seaglow(although seaglow is quite expensive) to salon care. I just did salon care + oxy on my GMP 6's and it worked fine.

i mean, fabes and all these others seem to sell something that right out of the bottle clears 6s. ive cleared gmps/olympics and other new release 6s no problem. mainly sucks with bred 6s dmps etc. @dontbelikethat

What should i use to fix the toebox of my flu games?

Would anyone have a size 14 Jordan 6 donor for sale in size 14 Men's?  I  have a pair of 2000 Black/Infrared 6's in need of a midsole.  Don't care if it's a Jordan 6 or a Flight Club '91, just PM me with a price because the bay doesn't like normal prices sometimes.

I get what you're saying, but what they claim to work just for 6's or just for foams, etc. is probably the same stuff or similar to salon care. They just added an extra label on it. I've had no trouble with older and newer retro's with salon care, it all works the same for me. Maybe it's other factors than the sauce that affected your work? Less sunlight, not a good set up,etc.?

I'm sure they do have difference with their sauce and just regular salon care + oxy or any other sauces, but for the most part, the general idea of how to make it is the same and has been out for years. They probably just added a little something extra to it to call it their own. I'm happy with salon care + oxy, and if you really wanted to put in that work, just add some seaglow. The price point is not worth it to buy those custom sauces imo, rather just buy salon care and add oxy + seaglow.

Pretty easy, just use some type of glue (e6000,barge cement, etc.) and then find a way to clamp it down so that the toecap sticks to the toebox and so that the glue can dry. Be sure to have a wet towel or rag to wipe off any excess glue marks immediately, do not let that stuff dry onto your shoes.

Use acetone and cotton balls to clean old paint..dirt off. Other than that I would tape off sections around what is to be painted.

any tips before i repaint this? its my first time. thanks!
I scrape it don't use acetone, its much better and cleaner result. Try to use the back of the xacto knife and scrape it with even pressure just so that your not damaging the midsole. In this method you can either choose to only paint the white area.

I bought some sneaker shields the other day and finally got a chance to wear them with a brand new pair of AF1. Man!! Are them sh*ts uncomfortable as hell and they make your feet hurt bad after about a good 5mins of walking with them on.

But there is a plus side. My AF1's didn't crease

So I'm about to buy the Angelus paint to touch up the black jumpan on the infrared 3s, flat black..right? and should i get a brush from them? if so, which?

You're talking about on the back tab? I just use regular black. I use a Princeton brush (angelusdirect.com has them), but it doesn't matter that much in my opinion as long as you don't get a real crappy one. You might want to consider using a cotton swab if it's just really minor paint chipping so the paint can have a more even coat, unless you want to repaint the entire thing or don't really care (it's not noticeable anyways).  1oz is plenty enough.
Is there anyway I can repair this on my taxi 12s?

It's because you're doing it wrong. Lemme guess....they're killing your pinky toe. You have to make a cut out for here your pinky toe is. Makes all the difference in the world. I did that and now they feel fine. In fact, I like the way they feel....call me crazy. Crease free, and comfortable.

More like pinky and big toe.

What do you mean by cut? I gotta make holes on them now?

Yeah...you gotta cut em. Some people get away with not cutting them but they must have VERY narrow feet. I have kind of narrow, like barely, feet. And I still had to cut mine. It's become so common that they now sell them precut if you want on the pinky side. But you can just do it yourself. There should have been a diagram on the package you got.

But since you said they hurt your pinky AND your big toe....just start with cutting one side of your shields. I'd be willing to be that they hurt your pinky toe more than your big toe. So start with cutting a rounded notch for your pinky toe, and that will give room for your toes to move outward some, thereby hopefully alleviating your big toe enough that you don't have to trim both sides. You don't wanna trim both pinky and big toe if avoidable, as to retain as much of the structural rigidity as possible. Just go on youtube, there are a bunch of videos showing different ways that people cut them. Maybe if I'm not too lazy I'll go snap a pic of mine to show you what I did.

These are the Air Force 1 shields , they are much stiffer iirc. There's a guide in my sig on how to modify em. Wouldn't recommend cutting em like you did.

It's cause I'm original baby. What works for you won't necessarily work for me.
