Basic cleaning does wonders, recently picked up some 95 OG Bred 11's for $90. Quick little comparison.

I've had really good results with a different brand of black suede dye. I bought it because of the purplish look the angelus dye has. The brand name is fiebing's suede and rough out dye. I recommend it I restored some bred 4s, metallic 5s, and playoff 8s and they look great even in the sun they have no purple at all

i hand painted them and they arent perfect by any means but are good unless you are right on top of them to inspect, oh in that case just maybe get some very fine sandpaper and softly go over the leather just to give the paint something to grab onto and remember to do multiple thin coats to avoid cracking.

One thing I heard is key for hand painting if you don't use an airbrush is thin strokes, but also the TYPE of brush. I'm going to be picking up some new brushes soon. Can anybody recommend the best brand? Do they sell them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby?

Hobby lobby carries nice brushes..depends on what you want to spend on them. I bought 2 Masters Touch 7050 blenders for like $6 a piece

I just want whatever is the best for painting shoes for restorations. $6 sounds reasonable. I just don't want to pay more than $10 a brush.

I prefer EZ Cleaner..I use on my 99 metallic Vs & 99 IV Breds and all my Js..does what its supose to everytime.
For what it costs imo its pry the best cleaner for the $$.

do not get synthetic brushes, get animal hair brushes and yes they will be more expensive but will be perfect for shoe painting

Barge Infinity Cement works well. I reccomend buying a set of decent clamps from Home Depot/lowes/hardware store to hold them together

I'm not sure about full sole separation (as if you were going to do a sole swap), but if it's just a partial sole separation, use E6000 glue. To keep it tight while drying, I just use art tape (that blue tape that artists use to prevent bleeding of paint/dyes/etc). Honestly though, regular masking tape will work if they are leather. I'd definitely spend the extra dollar for the blue kind if it's a nubuck Jordan V.
I notice that you are in Philly...I live in Philly too. Blick, on 13th and Chestnut, sells all the supplies you will need to repair the sole separation and the people that work there are pretty knowledgeable. They helped me repair about 6 pair of shoes a year or so ago.

for my XIs i use E6000 (better than barge cement and is clear) and i use extra shoe laces to keep the soles attached while it cures. just stuff the entire shoe with socks or something to retain its shape while you tie them down. easy breezy

nah just go to the crafts store and the labels will tell u what they are made of, just buy the cheapest ones. they dont need to be expensive just not synthetic cuz plastic brissles will leave mad ugly streaks

As for the rip idk..pry just sew closed..as for the yellow soles use salon care 40 from Sallys beauty..theres previous posts and youtube videos showing the process
