:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

Use a Q-tip and some black Angelus paint and just lightly dap it onto the areas that need touching up, and then just swirl the paint around so it begins to blend in with the surrounding paint.

Tutorial:

That's a lot of wasted time. It's very very simple to reglue shoes, and it's very practical. Don't need to do all that other stuff. Just literally glue the shoe back together.

NOTE: You DO NOT need to remove the entire outsole, but just follow the tutorials. Apply glue to the separated parts, then clamp them together with something. I often use shoe laces like in the vid since they're easy accessible. A glue I would recommend is barge cement or e6000.

Different shoes, but apply similar concept.

Look at the vids I posted above, but here are some more. Different shoes, but apply similar concept.

Just clean off the dust/dirt and all the other stuff on the bottom of the soles with a rinse of water or with some cleaning. Try to remove all the pebbles, gum, etc. Just do the best you can to make sure the bottom is clear.

I would reccomend Salon Care 40 + oxygen to clear the soles since it's one of the cheapest products out there especially for the volume/amount you get.

Not a big fan of the steamer unless it's on flat leather. I would try something like this (results may vary):

Apply a similar concept to the heel and then lace up the shoes all the way and tie them extremely tight so the heel/leather is pushed very hard against the socks. Leave it there for a while and let the leather mold into into being less creased/stretched.

Will i be able to make the back straight too? where it says '' Quality by the greatest or some''

Will i be able to fit the back to? Where it says the words. Will it mess up the letters?

I was wearing thinner socks before, but wearing them without the insole has been making a difference so far.  Thanks!

Although the leather in recent retros aren't the greatest in quality, they still will stretch with regular wear with all the bending and flexing. I play ball in my taxi 12s and they felt stiff at first. But after a few games they are amazing! Another reason to wear your kicks!

Is there any legitimate evidence that storing sneakers in plastic ziploc bags is beneficial in any way shape or form?
no, your shoes are made of materials that need to breathe. lack of oxygen will cause materials to crack or become brittle so just keep them at room temp and out of sunlight and at a regular humidity level and you should be fine.

Hardly... Ziploc is designed to keep your food fresh by sealing out air. Are they 100% leak proof? No.. but that tiny fraction of a percentage isn't nearly enough to let your shoes breathe correctly.

Stuffing the toebox to allow the material to stretch and adjust works for any shoe. Results may vary, but just leave the stuffing in the toebox to allow the material to mold.

I threw in the steamer vids just as extra knowledge for other shoes, but I'm not sure if you're using this method? Don't use it on bred 4's. Just watch the first vid. But yes, the steamer is not recommended for nubuck as it can damage the material, it's only good for flat leather.

I deleted the other vids.

This is what I found just by a quick google search, actual paint pre-made:

http://angelusdirect.com/products/collector-edition-white-cement

Amazon product ASIN B00IPNZ3LK
How to mix:

Go on ISS/SC's restore/cleaning thread and search the thread for "white cement 4 paint". Read through the results, saw someone say they used "bone" colored angelus paint, etc. as it's the closest and just duller/white or darker gray to make it more comparable to the OG paint depending if you need it lighter or darker.

This would be the first thing I would try.

What is recommended for the toro 4's when u get some of the greyish black rub marks where the sides of the tongue rub behind the top lace holes? Seems to be similar in all my red suede or nubuck.. Jason Mark cleaner and then brush it out with suede brush? Love these shoes so I don't wanna make a mistake.

That's the paint for the '12 white cement 4's i believe.. The '99 are a much lighter color
Add some white/duller to the pre-made paint in a mixing bottle or make your own mix with a "bone" colored base as stated on the ISS/SC thread, then white/duller for a lighter color and add gray/dark gray for a darker shade. Personally, I would just buy the pre-made cement paint and just mix it until it turns into what you want it to look like.
