i got paid like 7.25 i think, and mine was next to a movie theater, so friday/saturday nights i'd leave with 30-40 bucks in tips. this was 4years ago.

I started working at my grandfather's auto repair shop in 6th grade (1985) for $3 an hour cash. I then worked at my dad's auto machine shop in 7th-8thgrade for the same rate.
My first legit job that took out taxes was in 9th grade in the dining hall of Western Maryland College. I made minimum wage, which I believe was around $4 anhour.
