I know this is pretty old, but this is one amazing song. Not only does Matthew Santos snap on the chorus, but Lupe comes correct with lyrics... Lupe is a topnotch rapper...he creeps in and out of my top 15 and might make a mark in the eternal list of lyrical monsters...

Honestly...i know it's hard for people to understand this when i say it, but...Lupe Fiasco could possibly be top 10 lyricist D.O.A. It's a hard fit inbecause there are so many good lyricists but Lupe for some reason is like hypebeast said it, thought provoking...

Lupe makes you think...and you have to actually LISTEN to him in order to actually appreciate him..

If nothing needs to be expanded upon, why elaborate? (If this is in conjunction with my use of the word 'esoteric', however, you're on point. Wrongword to use.)

Sure, the song explains itself. That doesn't make everything in it gospel, à la Ras Kass' Nature of the Threat.

You're right though, unlike his other songs where he loses himself in metaphors, here there's "not much thought needed to understand what he'ssaying".

I guess I should clarify... I don't really like Lupe, but I respect his talent.
