The majority of what I listen to whether it's R&B or Hip Hop is from the 80's and mostly 90's.I'm not gonna come down on someone who is into the stuff that comes out now but for me personally,I just can't get with this s***! I haven't solidly listened to the radio since 04 (an underground radio station was the only one I listened to) and channel surfing i'll come up on 106 & Park or somethin' and just say to myself ''damn.............this is the flavor right now???????''.

same here.... Its not the actually venues that out this out... its the labels.... they honestly have people who have no knowledge of what the people reallywant to hear..... I understand that we have regions and different types of music but its all consolidated and uneventful.... we havent had any groundbreakingcollabs in years.... the music now appeals to teeny boppers..... If i was a grown man putting out joints I wouldnt want to cater to children.. with easy rhymepatterns and predictabilty.... I been waiting for a new artist to break thru from ANY region on the mainstream that would be able to relate to everyone
 
i only mess with lyrics & dope beats...... not that $%#%+#*@ stuff half these artists be puttin out.....
 
I have plenty of "real" rap on my ipod, but I rarely listen to it because I don't walk anywhere. However when I drive, unless wifey with meI'm usually playing something ignant and bass heavy

i listen to mc's that have something to say.

if they just rap nonsense about their clothes, girls, money, cars, diamonds, etc and throw on a R&B hook, then its garbage to my ears.

NO lie I put in Methtical the other day cause of Flex talkin trash...Low and behold it sounded like trash even though I loved it back in the day.
 
Mainly the whole east coast should throw the towel in and move south. That's what a lot of Texas rappers did, we went to Cali, and started fresh. The DOCbeing one.
