And yet no one is calling for heads internally or externally at NB. Mgmt must be doing something right when Nike’s CEO is on the ropes and Adidas has had a string of bad c-level mgmt.

Nah, let them keep pumping out mediocre collabs as decoys, so we can snag the great GRs with little to no issue, and even at times on discount.

That’s the thing though, mediocre collabs have no impact on the bottom line. JFG isn’t pushing the needle one way or the other for NB sales.

All I’m saying is, the collabs bring enough attention to the brand to keep them relevant with the “influencers” or casual fans. While the regulars can still pretty much get the pairs we want, except for the rare occasions that certain colorways are more popular for whatever reason, i.e. some of the recent 901v2s, and a pair or two of v4s.

Read that as sarcasm personally. Don’t know what everyone’s gripes are with “management” or collabs. You don’t need to own every NB shoe so not being interested in a collab is allowed and accepted. Don’t own any JFG shoes personally, but respect him as a creator and his body of work with NB - while it has a couple blunders it’s got bangers too.
They’ve also been doing retailer exclusive 2002rs since the model came out. Shoe palace, JD sports, footlocker, j crew etc. People come out of the woodwork complaining about things they don’t have a background of knowledge on. Same people will be freaking out when action’s 1906s drop.

Yeah I almost mentioned that they’ve strengthened their retail relationships by giving JD, DTLR, etc exclusive colorways and that’s great for business. I don’t see that as a shoddy move at all.
