Depends what model you have your eyes on imo. Different models fit differently, if you're thinking of buying a 998 i'd say go with 9. If you're going with 576 i'd go 9.5, etc.

Also if I wear 8.5 in air maxes , can I do a sz 8 for the nb 998s? I have a few 998s in sz 8.5 but I want to get a pair of 998 were they only have a sz 8 available, would I be ok ?

You should be aight if you dont mind the snug fit. i wear a 10 in air maxes and 998s but i prefer a little space. Most people size down on 998s

Man, I'm in the same boat as far as how long I've been casually copping NBs (I did buy them for fitness).
The comfort, colors, materials are great. The limited releases are hit and miss as far as availability and opportunity.
I still rock Nike's heavy but I could literally sell them off and just be fine just rocking a 999, 998, 997, 996, 990 OG, 1600, 1500, 1300, etc.
Can't wait for those teal and mint GRs.

Ok because my 998s In sz 8.5. Even with sneaker shields in them , I can fit a finger on the rear heelcup whenever I have my feet in them so I guess sz 8 might work

Anyone have the burgundy barbershop 1600s? The 1600LT? I've been eyeing them for a while now and I think I'm falling in love. I'm not a 1600 person but the color blockage on them looks amazing to the point where it makes the 1600 beautiful. Anyone who has them or seen them in person comment? I'm likely pulling the trigger soon

My boy has a pair and they are beautiful in person. I have a few pairs of 1600s and i go .5 down. The only thing my boy complainrd about was the red/burgandy bleeds a little on the inside ankle liner.

I've held them in-hand at a local shop...they are excellent quality. The weird shaped paneling on the the 1600 makes them one of my least favorite NB models, but this particular pair is very well done and one that I would purchase if I didn't already have a several burgundy shoes. They were a little loose when tried on but not enough for me to size down.
