Official New Balance Thread *sizing info for different models on first page*

For some of the new and old NB heads...

From the start, New Balance  have maintained an ethos that every one of their pairs are individual, and so assigned each model with a different number of its own. This provided an easy way to distinguish the variance across all styles, and now we have been provided a breakdown to fully understand that unique – and personal – coding system.
The typical model produced by New Balance  is branded with a 6-7 digit code, M1500BWG for example, and refers to three separate qualities. The first one or two letters signifies the gender and trainer type; in this case ‘M’ stands for Men’s and ‘W’ for Women’s. This can differ and instead included alterations such as ‘MR’ – Men’s Running, ‘MT’ – Men’s Trail, or ‘U’ – Unisex. There is also ‘CM’ or ‘CW’, which states that the model has been custom made for an exclusive collaboration, and we advise that if you see this, you be fast in getting a pair.

Secondly is the model number, the easiest part of the system that helps you single out what style you’re after. In this case, the ‘15’ refers to the level of performance (higher numbers equate to superior technology and quality, as well as a higher price tag) and the ‘00’ references to the performance series – also representing that these have been designed for athletes who want maximum performance, due to the higher number.

Finally is the last 2-3 letters which refers to the colourway, and means that ‘BWG’ would stand for Blue/White/Grey. On very select cases it will reference ‘ST’ or ‘MC’ for example, and designates that it is either a stability shoe or motion control shoe, and can also be altered when featured on exclusive releases, such as our ‘Black Pigeon’ last year seen below.
Now you at least know when you buy a new New Balance sneaker, what you are getting."

Note: you can find that exact model/ colorway on the tag inside the shoe...

For Sizing:

-For anyone w/' doubts on sizing. The best tip I can give you is just go with the series number of the shoe, since they all fit nearly the same.. I realize it may not be 100% way to do things, but it is a great way to use rule of thumb.. For example, the 577 and 574 are both 5 - series shoes, the sizing is going to be near identical.  Same with 996 and 998 or 999.. So if you wear a 10.5 in the 996 and it's too big, then you can safely assume a size 10 in another 9 series shoe like the 999 or 998 will fit perfectly.   - This is a general rule of thumb that will work 90% of the time.

Another big thing, is finding out where the shoe is made, as it may affect sizing.. Ie. China\ UK\ US NB's.   Best of luck!

I like to post this from time to time for the new NB-heads.

Sizing is always a weird thing to try to suggest because feet are different. But, for me in New Balances I usually go TTS. In the US made, I'm going to start going up .5 because for me, they run narrower than UK or Asian made. Wide footer here, though.

how many people sized down a full size to .5 on the capsule x new balance.. just got them in today im glad i went down .5 they run BIG

Yea those are this years im talking about 1st quarter next year.

Okay then thats as far in the future as I got, seen some m678 due next year and those sample leaks on sneakernews... anyone fancy pointing a brother in the right direction I seen whisper of an aqua 996 that got me rather hot under the collar

CM/CW means exclusive?  aren't there some GR 1500s with the CM/CW designation?

The CapsuleTux definitely runs big. .5 half size to big. I'm an 11.5 in all Nike and jordan, and definitely needed an 11 in the New Balance

Anyone have an opinion on the New Balance 620? They have them at Urban Outfitters and I loved how they looked on feet. Anyone own a pair?

Is there a difference in quality between the 577NG and the 577NGA (same for grey/navy)?  Worth the extra $20?

Hoping to get lucky this Memorial Day with finding the 997pr for less than 260 in my size

I'm going to get a pair of these I am just curious to know where the 3M appears on this shoe? (if anywhere)

Received them today as expected and here's as promised:
400

I paid $153 shipped for the 997HL's from NB due to prior order errors and coupons.

And unexpectedly on Wednesday, I was on eBay and came across a seller I had purchase from before had the 997PR's for $240 shipped, asked for $230 shipped, he accepted, and with an eBay 15% user discount came out to:
400

400

Purchased them on Wednesday and received them today.
I am very pleased with both purchases. [emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji]
