Just got my 997pr in and while colorway materials etc. are all on point the 30% markup over my 997nv is in zero way justified. I mean I just don't see it. That little bit of Horween leather drove the price up that much? If so they can keep it. Let me state again it is a crazy dope shoe 1 of the top New Balance releases and IMO one of the top 20 2014 releases in general but that price. I sure hope the 997 coming out this fall is not the $260 variety.

It's definitely on the expensive side. If you didn't know, the Horween Leather COmpany is a tannery based out of Chicago that's been practicing it's art for over 100 years. Everything, the texture, smell, quality, etc. is on point.

That's relative, bought a few months ago a pair of Reebok's Classic Leather Lux all made of Chromexcel Horween leather, and the leather was gorgeous, superior quality (asian made), and cost me in sale 75€ (about 100 usd).. but i mean, they are all leather, not just a detail...
