Sounds like the materials are not as good as the 997gy. Are the materials comparable????

Sorry man I've never actually seen the GY in person, I wish I had a pair to compare. But there's obviously not the plush pebbled tongue since they used the embossed croc 3M, but that's just a matter of preference I suppose. All of my 998s (aside from the J Crew Concrete Jungles) have that super nappy, almost fur-like suede, while the 997NVs and the Rosés are just a bit rougher. Still very, very nice, don't get me wrong. 
 
997's are a little tight, anyone know of any methods to stretch them? is heating them with a blow dryer a bad idea?

the rosè 997 run snug i always go tts on my nb inless its a must .5 down, could probably got away with going up .5 on the rosè also i got a wide foot

These sexy beasts arrived today. So much better in person and definitely worth the price tag. I can say that I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My second pair is on their way too. It was sitting with UPS for a while and it just got updated. The second pair should be here by Thursday. Now onto the RF x NB 850 black Friday release.

Yea white laces really make the shoes pop compared to the grey. The grey have 3M in them and its almost too much grey 3M on the shoe. Same with the pink laces, no 3M but just too much pink.

i heard there's a early sample pic that was floating or floated around but apparently the teaser looks nothing like the sample..or was what you saw this very same shoe?

It looks to be the same shoe. I will say the latest teaser def looks better. In fact, I couldn't remember if it was the same one. Hey, it can always change. Official pics arent out, but if it is indeed the one I saw...buns IMO.

edit: Same shoe. They just highlighted the good part of the shoe.

 probably the worst execution of those colors on a sneaker yet, unless you're a huge Knicks/Mets fan. No amount of limited or collab status will convince me to buy these.

repped for the nice shot..these look dope with the white laces.. I was going to try out the grey laces myself..

i WISH my second pair and regatta's could move in the direction of a UPS truck smh :smh:

Suede on the 997gy is slightly softer than the 997nv probably similar to the 998's as it does feel fur-like.
