lol yeah let me explain.  I love the silhouette.  However I dont find it as comfortable as the 998.  Uncomfortable on my feet.  Thats why I only own three 997s.

It's not that they're higher priced, it's that they almost never go on sale.  Most 998's retail price is over what J Crew charges, but they end up going on sale fairly quickly on some site or ebay.

#OCF...even though it's not a carpet. My first pair of 998s, here are my thoughts:

The Good

- Nice silhouette. Looks stunning and a timeless classic for sure.

- Color blocking is on point.

- Cushioning is fantastic in contrast to the 997. Man, the 997 feels like a pair of wooden clogs compared to this. I guess it has to do with the usage of Abzorb instead of Encap?

The Bad

- The toe box on the right side has some sort of defect. The suede toe wrap is wider on the lateral end. You probably can't see it in the pictures but it's there. Not a big issue.

- Sizing. My left foot is a tad wider and longer than my right, so it isn't as comfortable as I'd like. I have a pair of really thin leather insoles so I might swap to them and see how things go.

Glad to be onboard the 998 family!

It's not that they're higher priced, it's that they almost never go on sale.  Most 998's retail price is over what J Crew charges, but they end up going on sale fairly quickly on some site or ebay. 

I realized that in USD it's 180. Which is around the nbdc price. However the foreign currency it charges is too high. Their SGD price is S$364 which is 2x of USD. Current exchange rate is only at 1:1.4 which j crew hits nearly 2x for their sgd pricing.

Have you ever thought of setting up a US proxy address?    That should cut costs down significantly.

J. Crew hands down. Love the fact that pretty much everything released by them has been on US-Made models. Colorways have covered a good amount of the color spectrum as well, providing plenty of variety.

J. Crew. Easily. To me, best RF x NB is Salmon Soles. The rest are meh.

Their reputation most definitely precedes them.

And JCrew > RF by a mile. No contest there.

Which is why i have really high hopes for this 997, hope i'm not disappointed!

Concepts collabs aren't at the same level as JCrew IMO, at least 997/8 vs 997/8. 

Apart from the C-Notes, everything else has been pretty much monotone.

JCrew has a lot more exciting designs on their 998s.

Fan of 998. Gotta say JC did it better. CNS is good though.

No way.... the cnotes And tannerys were both bangers.  Sure j crew has a wider selection of colorways. One 998 jcrews i liked personally were the hilltops and new navy... sure indys were nice. But concepts color blocking is on another level
