Sizing down from your 998 size for those 997's might be a problem.  I think you will find them tight unless you buy your Nike size for 998's to begin with.

997 imo is really narrower, especially so if you're wide footed. Your feet can feel the pain. Unless that 998 US8.5 is roomy for you then it might work and fit nice. Some go down 0.5 for 997 and 998. But some stay true to size for 997 and go down 0.5 for 998. Just some reference for you

I've looked for the past year for a size 11/11.5 for a "deal".

All I saw was $400+ each time for DS.

There's only 4 on eBay atm.

I got lucky two weeks ago and purchased a worn once pair for $125 and almost **** myself.

Now, as far as DS goes...

To me, that's a very good price on eBay for the supply of DS pairs (IMO of course).

The thing is J Crew still had a bunch of sizes of the Indys left up until recently. However just checked in with my trusted rep at JC, jungles infernos and indys have been wiped clean now.

Not sure about actual numbers but it seemed like there was definitely a lot more hype around the 997's this time around... I personally loved both but opted for the 997 as well.
