The two part episode when Robin found dude who actually killed his parents is up there too.

Man a couple of the Clayface ones too.

Where are you guys finding the box sets? Online?

I got my box sets at Walmart. I would recommend volumes 1-3 because volume 4 was when the animation and format changed, and the storyline started to suck.

Out of purely nostalgia, I'd say the og TF cartoon was GOAT too, but do you know how hard it is to actually sit and watch most of the G1 episodes now?

I'd say the OG X-men series still beats out B:TAS, but not by much. I can actually watch these shows today and not realize that I just peeped a 20 min toy commercial

yo I still watch the original animated movie on VHS when Optimus died and gave up the matrix and Hot Rod became Rodimus Prime. I still shed a tear and Im grown

see, you got technical there, The movie is in a different league from the show

I also get sad once Galvatron's squashes Starscream's crown b/c that's pretty much the end of G1

they are trying to get the toys to look the exact same as the cartoon...

If you're not familiar with the situation, the first waves of DC Collectibles' action figures based on Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures have come under a lot of fire from fans thanks to a multitude of problems with the strength of the joints in the figures - made from a weaker plastic, the tiny joints used for articulation in figures' wrists and ankles have been prone to snapping off the moment you try to move them. It's especially been a problem for the Batman figure: the top heavy, tiny-footed Bats is faithful to Timm's classic style, but has literally been snapping his own ankles under the pressure of his huge chest and upper body. Yeeowch. It's hard enough to get the figures to stand thanks to the smaller legs that are a trademark of Bruce Timm's designs, but the breakages have been an understandably sore point for customers - especially when each figure costs $25.

Anyway back on topic, this was my absolute favorite show of all time.

I have the collectors editions DVD's that have every show from S-1 E-1 till the finale. :pimp:

It's a shame we don't have any great cartoon series like this anymore. This, Superman, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Spiderman, X-Men, Batman Beyond. I even liked the first Teen Titans cartoon. Recently we had Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Young Justice but of course they had to get cancelled.

I know people say cartoons get cancelled because of poor toys sales but that's such a crappy reason. Did cartoons depend on toy sales like that back in the day? Do kids still have their parents buy a lot of action figures and stuff? I would think video games and tablet games would be more in demand.

i dunno how the toy sales are but just think about how good the commercials were for them back in the 90s.

you dont see ANY toy commercials anymore.

::90s nostalgia daydream::

Those new cartoon you mentioned were garbage in every way. No mystery why they were canceled

Tablets and ipod touches have become the replacement for action figures and the like. Action figures are so expensive it's cheaper to get a kid a cheap 7 inch tablet or an ipod touch and fill it with games from the app store and it will hold their attention longer.

I have to imagine action figure aren't the cash cows they once were.

Avengers was horrible from the animation to the story. Young justice was just American emo anime. Any "hey let's make them kids" shows suck.

I grew up with Batman TAS so it holds a special place in my heart but adult me like Justice League Unlimited better.

Lies. Well I've taked to other people on this board who liked them so i'm not the only one. Way better than that garbage avengers cartoon they have now.
