Not really.
Hip Hop started with the block parties in the South Bronx with the DJ's and the hype men (MC's). It's not the same as today's southern club andringtone music. Back then DJ's went hard with cuts and mixing (listen to Jazzy Jeff for example) not this looped fruity loops !*+#@#*@ with some lame onauto tune singing.
The point was it evolved as an art that's why we have the "golden age" with a mix of entertaining boom bap hype music and the "real"music with deep and relevant messages. Nowadays with few exceptions all the South is putting out is just pop type beats and lame meaningless lyrics. It'strash. I understand listening to it on the side but when that's 99% of what the South is putting out, how can you be taken seriously ? Where the realclassics at ?
What's really good now that Scarface retired ? Not a good luck for y'all with the dime a dozen out-to-get-rich teens making trash that white kidsacross America are eating up.

East is '92 Jordan right now, about to come back. We got tons of dudes holding it down and '09 is our year period. Gotta open your eyes to more thanwhat you hear on hot 97 if you really think ron brownz is even mentionable. Dude is busy mixing the Gatorade for the real rappers.
South looks like the NBA D-league with a few prospects and the rest trash. A lot of em be looking like they belong in the WNBA or in the stands if anything.
West lookin' like Europe with some hot players but the majority aren't really on our level right now.
I don't even know what the majority of the midwest is doing. They playing water polo or some $%$%

Long story short, the south has a few bright spots, just like EVERY OTHER REGION, and more bland spots like EVERY OTHER region...and thats why you will onlyfind Jay, Outkast, Drake, and Wale in my disk-changer..sprinkle some jeezy in there too lol..

The south will never get boring. Its how we live. We bumped this #** when the country didn't know who or what our music was. And that's gonna continue.I still think the most mainstream rappers in the game though happen to be from the South. Our music is just universal. Either you can relate to it or you canjam to it. You can't say that about any other region in music. You use to could say it about the West Coast but they're music just garbage now.

You can't be serious. Stoupe > the south. There are hundreds of better rappers than TI, here's one: King Magnetic. Work ethic ? Putting out dozensof trash mixtapes isn't exactly hard. Quality > Quantity. Luda ? Go ahead and mention him, he's garbage.

We have artists that DO them, make music that we like and we support them 100% [most of the time] and not only do we rep and listen to our artists ... people from ALL regions do ... so they must be doing something right ....
For the longest the northeast artists [not saying all but a lot] tried to make songs that emulated the south sound, collaborated w/ artists from the south that they wouldn't have if the South wasn't on the top of the game & made these trash psuedo-song that just seemed spurious ... Most _s from up there been making music that dude from your own region don't feel ... Am I lying ?!?
But we've discussed this before .... the landscape is different uptop and down bottom ... y'all on that crabs in a barrel **** ... the south is usually unified for the most part ... all the cities show each other love for the most part ... so it's the whole third coast VS. whomever ... but the south's ankle-lock on the game is prolly up but it's not going anywhere ... nor is it getting "boring." And I'm willing to bet that NYC isn't next ...

The difference is when the East was dominating the mainstream we had actual classics being put out. All the south is doing now is milking it with few peopleeven trying to do anything respectable.
