Help identify this mid '90s basketball shoe (ID: Air Wayup)

The name of these escapes me. There are a lot of names that come to mind, but apparently I'm not getting the exact one unless there are just no images ofthem found through google.

This was the only picture I could find - I knew Pippen wore 'em a good bit. Seems like Rodman wore them a while as well, and I really remember them beingworn all around the league. Loved them in the clean black colorway w/ white swoosh area.

Have they ever been retroed?

I'm almost positive they aren't the Penny's that came out around the same time, though they are similar. These weren't as bulky. Air bubblewas only visible on the sides, not all the way around the heel; contrasting swoosh area color doesn't extend to to the forefoot, and doesn't have theridges of the Penny.

Still virtually no google hits for that. Guess there just aren't pictures of them around from back then?

Just buy a pair of of Penny 1's. That's what everyone did back in '95 anyway.

Yeah, those shoes are some of the nicest looking shoes Nike's ever put out.

Performance on the other hand, especially when compared to anything available today, would be less than stellar... same crappy lacing setup that the Penny1's featured, and same amount of nothingness for cushioning up front.
 
Had these back in the day, was sick of them after a week. Cushioning was lousy, only bought them cause Pennys weren't available in my part of the world.
 
one of my grail... these are the very first pair of Nike i ever had... i've been waiting for them to retro...
 
That is basically the affordable version of the Penny I's. I remember when Allen Iverson was at Georgetown, most of his teammates wore the Air WayUps.Iverson, instead, wore the White/Black XI's. The Air WayUps are one of the best shoes I've ever played basketball in.

My first pair of Nike's these were...all black and silver accents....Loved those...soooo want them back!
