for all my 25 year old dudes and older..remember 1994?

remember when the first ever retro I-III's are flopped horribly and were on sales racks for 19.99 by the truckloads?

remember when NO ONE like the IX's and were played second fiddle to all the new nikes with AIRMAX2 technology?

remember when charles barkley's and penny's line dethroned Mike's?

those were some good times......cuz back then i hated mike and loved charles barkley

probably cause mike retired from basketball during that time and didnt play with them

i honestly remember when ur talking about.the technology was far advanced by nike.but i think the 23 quality and the 2009 comfort blows them out of the water

I know all the true fans like me that loved MJ knew he was still the greatest ever. When I first saw the 10's I was like what the hell? I bought the93' cement 3 retro's. True MJ fans never chose barkley and penny over MJ. I never hopped on that penny hype. What did his legacy turn out to be? Oh,yeah when MJ came back the greatest shoe ever came out. The patent leather XI'S.

that played a part..but it was more to do with the fact that the public was LOVING shoes with big bubbles since it was a new thing, and jordansain't have any..so they started fallin by the wayside since both kicks were similarly priced but barkleys were a couple notches more.

plus barkley was a badboy..so his movement resonated with the drug dealers and street ballers that could afford those back in the day.

ur exacetly right the public fell in love with the big air bubbles that nike was throwing out. But lets be honest those barkley shoes were sweet.

I remember I had those barkleys all black with the purple swoosh near the air bubble sick shoes and mad comfy imo

lol...yep finally a real good og thread for us 'oldies'...i'd have to admit though sir charles really got me once nike started with the wholegodzilla campaign...think it was a year before in '93 when i had that charles vs. godzilla poster up in my room and i was copying it for art class...someof the good ol' days

yup , cats were beastin on the whole airbubble thing.Guess they just wanted something new.or they were just curious.

I remember walking in my local Athletes Feet/Foot and the X's were collecting dust on the shelves. I think for two reason, Mike had retired and otherathletes (Barkley) were more in the forefront of marketing.

hell ya those barkleys were the %%%%. im not gonna lie i hated jordan up until 96. i live in LA so i was a magic johnson lover

I had all 3 of those so i guess i bowed down to myself, but id say jb died after the 13 and then came back with the 23

what made them cooler? whatever it was the public didn't think so...i had to go to 10 stores to get those barkleys while the X-IX's werediscount fodder...but then again sounds

like 1994 would've been a great year for you.

You fool! Are you for real? Of course everybody jumped on the Penny/Barkley train, JORDAN was retired. If he was still in the game he would of won 2 morechips, the rockets would've lost 2 in a row to the Bulls and the IX's and X's would've sold out like all other J's cuz MJ was winningchip's in 'em, don't front folks. Don't get me wrong Penny's and Bakley's were dope, but those dude's weren't winningchapionship's like Mike was. Straight hater's!
