To me, Nas is the GOAT because he has such a strong catalogue of deep, instrospective, thought-provoking, intelligent tracks.

For you Jay-Z fans, can you realistically give me one song better than ANY of these:

One Love
Sly Fox
Black Girl Lost
I Gave You Power
Fetus
Undying Love
Surviving the Times
One Mic
Rewind
Rule
What Goes Around

(not to mention Nas Is Like, and all the heat on Illmatic, It Was Written, God's Son, Lost Tapes and Stillmatic)
 
Well first of all all those songs arent even of the same quality (Rule and One Love???? Really?)
Second I would argue that Where I'm From, Dead Presidents and Regrets is as good or better then any Nas song...

One Love for the lyrical ability and storytelling, Rule for the meaning and social commentary, if I were to include all his best songs, it wouldn't be faircuz Jay only has like 5 good hip hop tracks

I could add some more songs to this list, but it's pointless. But it would be hard for anybody to beat Nas's top 10 best tracks ever (which youdidn't do).

Obviously that's hard to do.

Jay-Z "stans" could also do the same thing. Name15 Nas tracks better than the 15 tracks of RD, minus Illmatic.
 
I was trying to list all his deep and socially concsious songs as well as thoughtful songs like Rewind and I Gave You Power........obviously gems like Nas IsLike, World Is Yours, NY State of Mind, and many other are classic but not necessarily deep like Undying Love and some others

either way, those Jay tracks listed dont come close

Meet The Parents is probably better than every songs you listed in your first post.

This guy just completely disregarded like 50 tracks that are either better or very close like they were trash.

Come on my man, try and go through every single song we listed and tell me those Nas tracks you listed are better than all of them.

I am a HUGE fan of Nas and I have heard every song in his entire catalog, he's in my top 3 and I respect almost everything he puts out, and the tracks Ilisted are honestly better than the list you made

Jay and Nas are both top 5 in my eyes, I can realize when music is good music and I can point out when a rapper I don't like puts out a songbetter than my favorite rapper, I'm opened minded about music, good music is good music. You're just being a hater/stan.

i dont hate jay, he is solid and has a lot of good songs........but I just feel Nas is more of a true lyricist.......Jay makes too many commercial mainstreamrecords that hurts his legacy

I just don't how you can honestly think the list you made is better than all of the Jay songs listed.

I don't wanna see a flood of *!$$ from random stans talkin' about "i couldn't choose just one blah blah"

Pick something that you feel highlights why Jay is top 5, worth d-riding, is comparable to Nas, is a great lyricist etc.

We will go from there.
