Nas and Jay are both my top 5 so I ain't even going to compare their verses. All I say is Illmatic > RD.

Jay-Z can spit on almost anything and does, unfortunately Nas falls short in some places. Yes Nas does Socially Conscious songs better than Jay but other thanthat, it is it. That is why Jay is better.


Nas seems to give one kind of sound where as Jay-Z doesn't..
 
Let's just try to stop Nas/Jay-Z arguments.

Everyone in here (minus MidEast, but he's irrelevant to good music discussions) can agree that they are both great, and beat each other in certain areas.They're both some of the GOATs, lets leave it at that.

With the exception of club records, what does Jay do better than Nas??

"2nd Childhood"
"If I Ruled The World"
"Small World"
"2nd Coming"

"Purple"
"Thiefs Theme"
"Star Wars"

I Feel like NaS is more versitile, I mean he's doin an album with Damien Marley, remember when Jay made that $+!$ with Sean Paul
