How do you want to live? Just barely getting by or decent? A 6 figure income doesn't even go far here in SoCal. The house in my areaaverages out to be $400-500k, that's a 2-3 bedroom 1,300-1,500 sq ft house. I live in a middle to upper middle class neighborhood, nothing even close toNewport or Bev Hills.

Are you the same one who made a topic about this before hand a few weeks ago and everybody told you this was going to happen?

im moving to LA in the summer with my lady. im actually here right now from the bay area, for the sole reason of apartment hunting. i posted questions in thesocal forum but got no responses....a lot of our appointments are in koreatown. is that a cool place to live? and what are some spots that we should look atthat are within the price range of ktown apartments ($800-$1000 per month)? my lady is going to FIDM so she wants to be close to the school.

also on a sidenote....im here until sunday. im staying at the miyako hotel in japantown. tonight were hitting up the rootdown at little temple. anything elsecrackin this week???

K-town...that's not the safest neighborhood, to put it nicely. Your price range is kinda low soyou may have to settle for htat. When I looked around at an apartment 2 yrs ago, I found a nice 1 bedroom apartment in Northridge near my campus for $1,100 amonth and that was a STEAL for what it was.

thank you for the info, i appreciate it. not sure if you can answer this, but maybe you have been to san francisco. how unsafe is it compared to the urbanareas of san francisco? im asking because thats where we are from, so if its pretty much like that kind of atmosphere, we can deal. it might actually helpwith the homesickness! haha

the highest we have been looking at as far as price range goes is in the $1400 range, if that helps.

)

crime is not bad at all here you might get some graffiti here and there....

but I've never heard a single gunshot in my 18 years of living here.

too bad for you guys..the house next to mine was a 2 rm / 1 1/12 bathroom i think.. rent was only like 1200-1400..street parking.

it just got rented out like last month...

Echo Park is not that nice, to put it nicely again. Glendale, and Los Felix part of L.A. would be a better choice, just a bit north of Echo Park,but rent would be higher there. We lived in a nice apartment with 2 bedrooms in Los Felix back in the mid 90's and I still remember the rent was $1,000. I'm sure it went up by 100% since then.

Tim - I've never gone to NorCal so I can't answer that. I don't think it would be much of an issue if you just use it as a place to sleep and mindyour own business. We lived in a bad area for about 9 years, granted that it was a gated community, but there were still gun shots and gangs around. I nevermess with anyone or anything in the area..once that gate opens up, I shoot down to the onramp to get on the freeway.

thanks again for the info.

will be at the rootdown at little temple on santa monica blvd tonight. somebody let me know whats crackin the rest of the week!

I wanna move to silver lake but my moms just called it a gay town. Thing is the crime rate is pretty cool there, plus it's right up the street from sunset.
