i wouldn't mind a place around miracle mile, tops i'd pay is probably 1100 for a one bedroom. hell, i'd even take a studio if it meant cheaper.

i'm also leaning toward downtown now...i saw some studios for around $1100. there are a lot of vacancies so prices are dropping too.

how much was your deposit? $2600?

theres a special going on right now. the one bedroom going rate is at 2000, renaissance is taking $600 off plus one month free. with all that, ittotals to about 1300 and some change a month. as soon as i got the tour and got quoted, it was a deal! their renovations are gonna be crack too!

In terms of rent (not mortgage), if you want cheap don't look into the Westside (Santa Monica, any beach city) or Pasadena.

If ya'll think Echo Park is bad, you guys are soft Angelenos,

true. but my girl is literally steps away from school. and even i know that a 15-20 minute drive can easily turn into a 45 minute drive in LA traffic. im inthe middle of everything in LA and im happy. plus im an LA newbie, so i would think downtown would be a great place to start off.

Be nice to Brett and Schlomie!

just got good news and bad news....

bad news is, the unit i am supposed to move into, is no longer available (current tenants decided to renew their lease).

good news is, they gave me another unit, two floors down, same square footage, with a cheaper rent! instead of 1300 and change, i will be paying 1200 and somechange!

it just got rented out like last month...
my girl lives in phillipino town (Alvarado and Beverly)
