Is It Really Collecting?

Me and my friends where talking about this when it comes to Js....Is it really collecting if you just buy every single one that comes out or are you just ahypebeast and falling into the fad of "I gotta have Jordans". Everything JB puts out IS NOT hot...sometimes not even luke warm..I just wanted to knowpeoples opinion on if you are a true collector or just another person caught up in the hype?

I'm sure others will disagree, but it's all considered collecting. I know someone who only collects XIIIs. And to date they've purchased every XIIIrelease. But it's the only Jordan that they'd every buy. Other peoples collection consist of only numbered sigs and some only collect OGs. But when yousay that you're trying to "collect" everything that JB releases, you just put yourself in a real bad position. You've basically taken an oathto stay broke.
 
I think it is collecting but it is a stupid to but every single jordan shoe that comes out
 
im not a collector...

but i do cherish the kicks i have.....

buyin every single J is crazy.... some are ewwww
 
I guess i should rephase that...all these retros that come out..Not the Team Jordans and All that other stuff
 
i get wat i like but i do collect them but i wear all my pairs and im not a reseller
 
Buying every single retro is being a Hypebeast. To me a large majority of Retroes are ugly. I'm a collector who only buys mostly OG colorways, and wearevery shoe.
 
It is collecting but your collection would consist of 90% trash if you buy everything

It's funny because even as you describe the latter, EVERYONE who actually falls under that hypebeast definition, will NEVER admit to that.
 
To be honest though, after finally obtaining all four OG colorways of the Jordan V, it seems like buying all the LS colorways are - not hype per se, but justsimply liking and enjoying the color combinations. For me at this point, it's not even about Jordan anymore, And I grew up loving him from 1990-1998 (incunjunction with Pete Sampras, Ken Griffey Jr. and Andre Agassi). My point is that Jordan Brand is simply that; JORDAN BRAND. It's sad, but it seems likenowadays the vigor of the jordan entity is slowly dying with every new release. I haven't bough a new jordan since the Olympic 6's, and even thosesucked. But yeah, for me wearing and collecting Jordan's are about two things; It's appreciating what Michael Jordan accomplished during his career,and also wearing Jordans simply because they fit well and look really nice. Simple as that!

I bought what i liked. And its gonna stay that way.

I cant speak on these young kids buying up these fusions and off-colors..
 
IMO if you buy every single pair, you are just trying to show off in a way. but do whatever you want to do. If you want to buy ugly shoes then do it.
