Imo hypebeast is just an over used word. If a person wants to spend his/her money on every Jordan then so be it...its their money and they are entitled to buywhatever they want. I guess in todays society people just like to "label" or are quick to put people in categories for no reason...anywho if you sayyour a collector, and you enjoy buying and collecting shoes then id say your a collector...

Collecting is a passion. There's no motive to do it because it's "in". You do it because you admire Michael Jordan's accomplishments andyou love and appreciate the shoes that many of us watched him play in from the very beginning of his career.
Being a hypebeast is for the most part the complete opposite of what my earlier statement. If you buy Jordans because they're "in" and you buyevery Jordan released just to claim that you own the pairs then you my friend are the very definition of a hypebeast....

I buy only older retro's and OG's now. I also buy teams for ball, teams often get over looked but there are some pretty nice ones such as Team Elites.When I was younger I'd go shoe shopping with my mother and I didn't care which Jordan I got as long as I got my role model's shoes on my foot. Butthen again I was like 12-14 I'm 18 now. But buying eeeevery Jordan will leave you over drafting in you bank account.

I buy what I like. I like a lot of JB stuff but it seems like there's so much more that I don't like.

Like some have said, if you buy ALL of the J's that have come out its pretty silly because there are alot of hit and misses. I personally am i aboutquality, not quantity. If i cant ball im them or at least wear them casually and be comfortable in them, there isnt a point in me having them. Thats goes forany brand shoe, but since i am more fond of Nike and Jordan, i happened to buy them alot more (as well as the clothing for athletics).

i buy what i like most of the jordans i buy are original c.w just cos i grew up watching jordan and wanting the shoes that he wore. I dont really see the pointof buying every jordan released but if thats what they wanna do then thats there business. I think buying every jordan release is pointless, but none the lessit is collecting, although i think collecting is only buying what you really want, not just buying shoes to buy them because they say jordan on them.

It's all collecting. Just maybe not for the right reasons. If you like every retro that comes out then go ahead, but buying them for the sake of buyingJordans isn't cool.

not everyone has the same taste as others, wat ppl consider ugly others might like.
i for one have been collecting since 1995, and wearing jordans since 1988, and everything i've bought i like not because of hype or limitedness.
i collect sig and team jordans, nothing is wrong with collecting team jordans imo, it's just wat u prefer.
all these fly by night collectors just starting a collection good luck just be urself and dont follow wat others buy because it's in/cool thing to do
some ppl just follow others, for example, most didnt like the 200 oly 6's, not even the laney 5's yet ppl all of a sudden want them and calling themhot when they were the same ones bashing the shoes and complaining like crybabies

Wahtever you define your purchases as is what they are. You could buy one pair or 100 pairs a year, and if you stick with it, I would think of it as collecting

if you set out to get all jordan models, only sigs, only retros, only OG's, or only a certain sig you are a collector because u are aimming to obtain theseparticular models. jus the fact that u set out to get them makes u a collector. everyone's definition of a true jordan collector is different tho..
