LeBron Disapproves Of Marbury

He needs a clean break from NY...

I would say he needs a coach who will set him in the right direction, but Marbury from what I see, is not someone who will take criticism from someone.

Still, I would love to have him on my team.

Fool.. you had me laughing OUT LOUD at this one..

You don't blackmail your coach into starting you after you bail for no reason.
How are you assuming he 'bailed for no reason'? Were you in the room when such and such happened? No. There's alot more to the storythan what you hear.

Was the line about being owned funny? Of course it was. But was it necessary? Nope. Was it more evidence that dude doesn't get it? Yep. Just do your line and don't worry about who's owning and who's being owned.
Lebron made a comment, cheap shot at Steph and he answered. How is that unecessary? You don't let someone kick dirt in your face withoutfiring back.

Addicted to chaos.

Addicted to drama.

My man has to have it.
wow

LeBron is simply calling a spade a spade, and saying he wouldn't want someone like that on his team, someone who's blackmailing the coach and just always creating drama.
Once again, who cares what Lebron has to say? Worry about your own damn team and stay in YOUR LANE.

I'll tell you what NEEDS to happen, and that's Kobe going to NYK. Kobe and Starbury on the same team... so all of us 'haters' that realize those two are cancers can all sit back and laugh while those two talented individuals cause implosion after implosion.
wow

word to mother, these two are in a lose/lose situation. nomatter how you slice it.

^ It's interesting how you tell LeBron to stay in his own lane... but you have no problem with the comment about being owned.

Shouldn't Starbury stay in his own lane, and just worry about is own line, and not say anything about LeBron's line (or anyone else's line)?

How did LeBron say something first? I don't remember LeBron saying anything first. Starbury was talking about his line, and made the comment about owningbetter than being owned.

I dont know where you have been but somebody (similar to this situation) asked him what they thought about Steph and selling his shoes for so cheap andLebron said something about his shoes being more advanced than Steph's. Thats basically what it stemmed from, I cant remember exactly what he said but hetook a shot at Steph for God knows why.

^ Bingo.

If you're right, we have LeBron BEING ASKED to comment about Starbury's line, and what he said isn't disrespectful at all. "My line is moreadvanced" Wow. Such blatant disrespect.

So then Starbury... ON HIS OWN... makes a comment that IS disrespectful.

Drama. My dude needs it.

Strike that; YOUR dude needs it.

i don't think that's all he said...haha...the guy bashed marbury's line if i recall correctly.

bron still bitter if you ask me.

Lebron definitely disrespected Marburys line clearly as an opportunity to promote his own. Ska did you really not expect Marbury to fire back?! Bottom line isthey both took shots at each other. As a Knicks fan I respect Lebron but I can care less what he or anyone has to say when we don't know the wholesituation. I don't think Marbury was right for leaving the team but I do not think he ONLY left because he was told that he was benched. Their is a lotmore to the story than just that.

"I'd rather own than be owned" is a response about the person.

"My line is more advanced. I couldn't imagine endorsing something that cheap. At Nike, we have higher standards" is a response about the shoe.

smh.gif
give me a break, the shoe is HIS SHOE, HIS LINE, HIS EVERYTHING. The shoe is 9 times out of 10 a reflection of the person. He took a shot at him and hisline by calling it cheap.

Just because the comment was not directed at Stephon Marbury, the man, does not make it any less of a "jab".

true blue nailed it.

^ The shoe is NOT him. A reflection? Sure. But since when is a reflection supposed to count as an actual clone?

If I disrespect the shirt you're wearing, that's not the same as you disrespecting... ME. You might say, "You disrespected me by disrespecting myshirt," but I can still say, "You disrespect me by disrespecting me."

What is there to even argue?

Steph owns his shoe and clothing line. When Lebron went out of his way to take a shot at it, he wasn't just getting at him but he was also @@#@@$% witSteph's money. Like son didn't have to say anything about his biz, but he had to slide something in.

Ska sounding like zo does with Kobe

lol

NYK fans, MOUNT UP!
Like I said earlier:
Steph is an awesome talent, but son doesn't get it.

If you think that makes me a hater, then you don't get it either.

^ I get what you're saying, but...

LeBron is inferring that Stephon does not hold high standards and that he, like his product, is cheap. LeBron is just one of Nike's endorsers, but theStarbury line was started by Stephon for a specific reason: to make basketball shoes affordable for those who can't afford the shoes with "higherstandards". Marbury put in a lot of effort in his apparel, and spent a lot of time promoting his own shoes. He had tons of interviews and even gaveautographs for those who bought his shoes. LeBron, however, didn't do any of those things, and he didn't need to. Nike and its big bucks handledeverything.

LeBron's comment was more of a criticism of the shoe rather than a personal attack, but it still had negative connotations towards Marbury. Steph justresponded with brevity and stunning clarity, defending his shoeline and himself especially when he thought he was being ridiculed.

::::

People can criticize Stephon all day long. I, along with the few real Knick fans on this board, know what Stephon has done to appease everyone around him, fromhis coaches, teammates, and to his fans. It's unfortunate that it's not working out as well as we'd like, but Marbury is a completely differentplayer. He can still take ANYONE in the league off the dribble, attack the hoop at will, but he doesn't anymore because he's trying his best to fit inthe system.

Steph's put up great numbers in his career, but he's never been on a good team. Never. Not once. He went to the playoffs with Phoenix when guys likeAmare and Matrix were budding, and Steve Nash just happened to be the glass slipper for that Suns team. Heck, Steph was out for more than half the season inhis last season with the Suns. No, i'm not saying Marbury is as good as Nash or anything like that, but if Marbury is always compared to the guys he wastraded for or was replaced by, I have no choice but to make these comparisons. In Jersey, his teammates were always injured. Kidd came in and inherited ahealthier group of youngsters in K-Mart and Jefferson, and the East was at its weakest point. Do you even know the Jersey roster when Steph was there? JohnnyNewman? Kendall Gill? KVH who was a flop? Or how about NY? Tim Thomas? Mike Sweetney? Nazr Mohammed? If you're constantly surrounded by teammates youcan't trust or are not proven, then you have no choice to try and do it on your own. Marbury averaged 20 and 8 for a long time, which puts him with a HOFgroup of players, but it hasn't worked. It hasn't worked for Kobe, or for Ray Allen, for KG, or even for TMac until he was surrounded with players.Last season, he deferred to his other teammates. Willingly. Crawford had a good year, Curry established himself as an offensive force, and guys like Lee,Balkman, and NateRob bloomed. Then the Knicks traded for Steve Francis, who would undoubtedly take his minutes. Steph didn't complain a bit. He justcontinued to play ball.

Stephon Marbury is not the perfect point guard, and I don't consider him an elite player anymore. But those who criticize him just smell the fumes withoutknowing what's going on in the engine. Marbury has been one of my favorite basketball players of all time, from HS to GTech to Minny to Jersey to Phoenixto New York, and i'll continue to follow him wherever he goes. It's easy to criticize and hard to understand. Some sports fans need to stop taking theeasy route.

BTW ska, this whole rant wasn't directed towards your comments lol. Just the first 2 paragraphs.

Starbury is a clown, a lil more eccentric than your average NBA player. But you have to remember these are NBA players with egos. Marbury's comment tostart was cheap, but Bron's comeback was ego bruising for Starbury. Bron was trying to take the higher road, but it really come off as saying"Starbury aint on my level" even though he was talking about the shoes...but there's really an insinuation. Truth is, they ain't on the samelevel.

telfair needs to be the mediator in this case...after all his highlight was gracing the cover of slam with bron and family needs to take care of family.
