Ice Cube is the most under-appreciated rapper ever.

I don't feel like he gets the love he deserves.

He was on one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time.
He wrote a majority of NWA's songs.
He has two 5 mic albums from the source and he played a HUGE role in another 5 mic album(Straight Outta Compton)
Kill at Will(even though it's not really a full-length album) is amazing as well.

Honestly, I think Death Certificate and AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted are the best freshman/sophomore albums ever.
Yes, that means I would take them over Ready to Die and Life After Death.

Now, even though he may Star in Disney movies now(Friday and Boys N the Hood tho

), son is always going to be that @#!% YOU, hard %!$, cut-throat rapper to me.

Maybe it's because he's a west-coast rapper and there's a lot of NY/East heads over here, but that shouldn't be an excuse.
Recognize one of the best to ever do it.

He did have mad mainstream success in the early 90s.
But what I mean by Cube being under-appreciated is that to today's new hip-hop fan, he's not really mentioned with Pac, Big, Nas, Jay, etc.

After all he's done, he DESERVES to be mentioned with those dudes.

[common sense]you ain't made !##! dope since Amerikkka's Most[common sense]

I feel each of his albums got worse

he started out like the Chuck D/KRS of the West Coast.......then he became all "We Be Clubbin" and "You can do it put yo back into it"

I don't like how he "grew" as an artist.....I think the whole Westside Connection" vibe turned me off to him

i wouldnt say underappreciated, hes one of the most recognizable rappers in the world, i think of underappreciated as a guy who can kill it lyrically but isnot hyped or stays underground

Now a days he does seem under appreciated. I think younger dudes associate him more with acting than rapping.

Who ever said it was one. "Amerikkas Most.." was produced almost entirely by an east coast squad. Dude had always been well acceptedby NY'ers because dude can rap.

Naw, I'm not saying that.
What I mean is you rarely see Cube get his props on this site(compared to other artists).

In the Early 90s, Cube had mainstream success, but like you said, now adays alot of people look at him as more of an actor than a rapper.

Go to the barbershop... Start talkin about the GOATs, if Cube ISN'T mentioned...Find a new barber

As Mace mentioned, Pac kinda took bits and pieces from Cube's image and subject matter and more or less took it to a whole new level...Never to be matched. This is something Pac took pride in, he said he felt as if Cube/Chuck D...Few others were somewhat of father figuires via their music...

But he isn't the most under appreciated...Just ask someone OVER 28...The MOST underappreciated is a kid from Queens...You might have heard of him, hesigned with Def Jam before a lot of us were born

I STILL play the $%^&& outta his first two solos. They are beyond amazing...even when I listen to them today.

It probably safe to say that between 1990-92 he was the best rapper doing it, but after he did kinda fall off. His rap style changed, his production got worse, but hes no doubt still appreciated
