thats not far-fetched.......
dude dont even have an album yet to be better than somebody...

word though..and please don't say his 'mixtapes' can be considered albums...

i'm a fan of dude, but seriously, he lacks creativity and subject matter is lackin.
he may have the punchlines, and great joints to listen to, but he hasn't really talked about much yet..
at least wait til he makes an album before y'all can say he's better than rapper a or rapper b.

I guess we have different definitions. Drake was known but not by many people yeah he had the song with trey songs and brand new but even my homegirls wholoved that song didnt even know who drake was. Until he linked up with wayne he was just a face in the crowd now he's standing out. Drake ain't evenput out his 1st single and dudes on NT got him in their top 5 and want me to respect their music opinion.

I'm saying...why does everyone think this?

Wayne a lame for referring to Drake as "his artist". He was gonna blow up regardless of wheter he met Wayne or not... with Wayne it just happened quicker. When he finally hits mainstream all of Wayne's interviews are gonna be talking about how he "discovered him"

.
How does that make Wayne a lame? And say what you want but Drake is on tour with Wayne. I know people who never even seen or heard of Drake thatknow him because of seeing him at Wayne's shows. That's a good look and if Wayne wants to take credit for that he has that right.

How can you say this though with the little we've heard from Drake? I mean maybe it is true but it just seems like you guys are trying to build up the hypemachine now. Like Time said, dude ain't even got a album out and he's better than someone? What if he spits garbage on his major debut? He's stillnice?

All these threads on NT needs to stop turning into Drake threads.

i was just thinkin the same thing while going through this thread.

But yea G.O.O.D. Music needs to put out more material imo. Do they have an official mixtape. i have solo projects from big sean and kudi, etc but they shouldput out something all together. that would be

How the hell did this go from G.O.O.D. Music to Drake toDrake-Wayne?

Never heard a Drake song...

But, G.O.O.D Music doesn't need a major push. That just slows down the process.

back on topic, i dont think good music has a major deal for a few reasons:

1. they dropped the ball on their first deal. common and ye were successful, but they were well established artist so there was only so much credit they couldget from that. they mishandled a consequence tape that was DOPE but about 5 people knew it even dropped. take em to the cleaners was great material and conswas shooting videos for some of them tracks damn near 3 years later on his own. glc was also still in artist development. my guy is getting COLD now, but inthe initial stages, gcl was horrible. his first mixtape was just all over the place. drive slow is when he started pickin up speed and showing signs of beinggroomed. then you have sa-ra who was on the lable at this time also. great musical talent, but before the demografic shifted, im sure nobody had a clue on whatto do with them, how to market them, ect. so in a nutshell. they didnt really have any superstars to break and come out with a great record with sales to backit up besides ye and common at the time, even though they had a talented roster...

2. John Monopoly. from what ive heard and read, hes not the GREATEST manager out there. hes the guy you were cool with so you give him a job, only to realizemaybe you shoulda looked for a professional instead. hes spoken numerous times on how hes had a hard time breaking an artist outside of kanye and that might behis gift and his curse. Consequence rolled with sha money xl for his last project because he wasnt agreeing with the way john monopoly was handling business.hes had ties with hustle inc (they were all in the shawna video "gettin some" wearing hustle letterman jackets) and you see how far that name hasgotten. it seems like they more conered with looking good than getting the job done. you also have a artist like Ye who is gonna be top priority at all timesalso. so they might not have enough staff to cover all the taskings. a lot of the artist theyve signed recetly were dudes who had their own steam and couldpretty much be in the positions their in now without them. managment just isnt that good. i mean wasnt big seans video for getcha some (a bad choice of singleanyway) shot and completed with Hype Williams already damn near a year ago? thats not day n night. thats not a song you sit around on and think its gonna gaina ton of buzz and then blow up. the managment just seems not too good over there.

3. Theyve been dropped once. im pretty sure that left a bad stigma attatched to them when it comes to other lables wanting to, or potentially pick them up as afranchise again. they are really going to have to show and prove with the rest of the group besides kanye and common to make anyone remotely interested. Bigsean needs to be a hot commodity, Kid Cudi is there they just gonna want to see what his numbers are looking like, Sa-Ra is gonna have to have some type ofmarketing and imagery that makes sense along wit the music for the big wigs to "get it", they gonna need to invest more into GLC and Consequence andnot just have them as the cool dudes thats just around. they really gonna have to make their lable seem valuable. the business is broke as we all know, so noone is going to want to invest a bunch of money into something they not sure is going to pay off in the end.

GOOD music is like a really nice, tempting car that everyone wants to buy, but nobody knows how it runs and fuctions yet.

summed it all up.

Drake is cool but I don't think he would fit well with g.o.o.d music.he raps like wayne a lil too much sometimes ,so I guess its okay for him to be wherehe's @ now .and g.o.o.d music already has cudi who is basically the same type of artist as drake(singing/rapping)....

As for the lable,I think kanye finds different joint venture deals with different lables for different artist.I know common had a distribution deal with geffenand I think john legend too...cudi's album will be put out through g.o.o.d music/universal motown.....im not sure of the rest tho...

That's funny because as soon as Drake's name was mentioned, every post was about him afterwards.
