About to graduate and was wondering if it's worth it to get a ring?
I want to get one because I'm the first in my family to graduate, but they are expensive...

Thoughts? Opinions?

For those that have graduated, do you wear them? Any good websites to order from?

Just like high school, college rings are not worth it. Nobody wears them after they graduate, maybe a year or so at most. I guess for memoribilia it'sworth it, imo just save the cash especially with the economy now.

is it worth it to you?

personally, I'm definitely gonna get one upon graduation cuz I worked damn hard for it.

I probably wont be able to afford a nice car or something right after graduating, so a ring should suffice as a reminder of my success.

Its going to be one of those things that you wear everyday for about a year and then one day take it off, and eventually it'll stay stored somewhere..Iwould say nay, don't get it

Anyways, the only ring that makes any sorta sense is the engineers' iron ring in Canada. Oh and I guess if you're in a frat or something and if they dothat. Otherwise, no.

Depends on the school. I go to Texas A&M and the Aggie ring is a big deal. A lot of people wear them post graduation and many times people will approachyou if they notice your ring.

how about that college DIPLOMA as a remnder of your success? Depending on where you went that piece of paper cost you anywhere from $10,000-150,000. Hangthat up with pride. Ditch the ring

If you went to an ivy school, then ya.

Otherwise keep your cash for something more important.

Yup.

I'm not going to be wasting my money on one. I'll need that money for law school.

It depends on what school you went to. Big, steeped in tradition type school...then do it. If you go to some D-3 commuter school, don't do it. Some ofthese replies in here make no sense, and are from high schoolers, so take that with a grain of salt.

When I graduated I didn't want one but my parents wanted me to get one so I bought one because of them. It looks nice and I tried it on when it arrived buthave yet to wear it because I didn't really want it to begin with since I don't wear rings anyway. So I would say don't buy one unless you reallyare going to wear it. BTW I bought it during a one week sale they have where all rings were 40% off.

I bought a ring after college and I don't wear it much, only time I would wear it is to lil events or some formal parties. I have no regrets to be honest.
