Why is male RNB so much better than female RNB?

For me the girls now are not amazing singers or make those long lasting or replay value type songs like in the 90s. Plus dudes like Anthony Hamilton just knowtheir music and do it great.

I actually some chicks need to take it back to those Motown days when it comes to song and how timeless they were. Outside of Alicia Keys and maybe a fewothers I can't think of any other female R&B singers that do it for me musically.

I'll admit the gap was much closer in the 90's but I think the men had the slight edge. New Edition, Boyz II Men, Guy, Tevin Campbell, Brian McKnight, R. Kelly, Al B. Sure, Ginuwine, Babyface, Jodeci, K-Ci and JoJo, Usher, Case, Carl Thomas, Joe, Keith Sweat, H-Town, Jesse Powell, Troop, After 7, Blackstreet, 112, Tony Toni Tone, Shai, Dru Hill, Soul 4 Real, Johnny Gill, LSG, Donnell Jones, Bobby Brown, D'Angelo, and that's just off top

I can probably keep going.
a few of them wasnt the 90's, and couple of them groups/artists was like 1-and-done. A few of those artists I mentioned gotmultiple classic joints.

But again, dont get it #%*$%$ up, I listen to more male R&B than female R&B...and it mostly has to do with because I am a male.

As men, we can't really relate to the subject matter they're talkin' about.
Pretty much what said ^^^. While I may F' with R. Kelly, Trey Songz, and whoever else because I feel they sing about that real ****...A girlwould argue with me until Im blue in the face tryna tell me how much deeper/realer Kelly Price/MJB/Keyshia music is.

Its all about relatable content, which is relative to who that person is, and thats with anything. The more a person is able to appreciate other perspectives, the more tolerable. Ive always been able to enjoy both.

There was just a thread with somebody saying he aint like latino rappers. It was the same situation.

Beansfoams, calm down e lol. N's exerting gender pride and all that...

Male r&b isn't necessarily better, there are just more singers.

yea thats true too, thats a whole different situation tho...

How it's gonna look singing along, word for word, runs and all, to some chick's song?...Nah, chill, I'm good

Females got it tougher. Sex sells...no one cares unless you're showing your +!*.You cant just just hop in the game. You have to sing very well and beattractive. B, Alicia and Keyshia possess both, and they're at the top of the game platinum album after album. And R&B as whole don't do really donumbers anymore. Male R&B is flooded but how many of them are going platinum? There's only a few, on one hand, that u can consistenly pencil in forplatinum albums: Ne-Yo, Usher, John Legend, Jamie Foxx. Mary & Beyonce do stupid numbers
laugh.gif
, and Alicia and Keyshia are consistently platinum.

The 90's tho, Mary J. Blige, Aaliyah, SWV, En Vouge, TLC, Xscape, Monica, Mariah, Lauryn, Brandy had joints, etc...tsst, it was some classic %+*# out back then.

but at the end of the day, we men, so of course we are going to lean towards the male content in general. No matter how well the song is sung, you cant help but to

at "Whatta Mighty Good Man", aint no N' tryna hear that lol.

Gap much closer? Please. We singlehandedly had the game on SMASH since forever.

90's right? Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Babyface, Robert Kelly, & Joe. Game Over.

Male R&B is sooooooo much better to me because they're versatile. There are so many sub genre / catagories that we can do.

1. I love you / i want to be your man / marry you / you're the only one for me R&B
2. Women appreciation / i love my momma / thanks for being strong and putting up with my BS R&B.
3. I don't know what the hell I want right now / I'm confused R&B.
4. I've came from nothing to something R&B (see. Jaheim . he's good for that stuff)
5. I messed up, I know I've done you wrong / take me back R&B (if you're a singer and you don't have one of these in your catalog, you're not R&B).
6. I wanna do everything to you (sexually) see. Robert
7. I wanna love you every minute of every hour (but not quite ready to committ) R&B.
8. I don't love you anymore and here's the reason why R&B.
9. I HATE YOU, you've lost a good man R&B.
10. I don't love you, I just want to chill with you and have sex with you R&B.

AND THEY SAY WE DON'T EXPRESS OURSELVES
Damn g lol. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt...but you right, we had 90s on smash too lol.

Well...being that the best R&B singer right now IMO is a female....I can't really say I agree. I mean the only males that are really killin are Anthony, Musiq, and John Legend. Oh almost forgot Robin Thicke. They win just because there are more. But I'll take Jazmine and Jill over both of all of them, Marshia if she counts too. Those 3 are WAY better vocalists than anyone out right now. As far as 90's and before it's pretty much the same thing....Male r&b isn't necessarily better, there are just more singers.
The best according to who? IMO no one singer is killing the game so crazy to be the best. But there are certainly more males who are doing there thing and putting out good-great music right now. And let's slow down before we start throwing Jazmine Sullivan in the mix with established artists. She's crazy talented but too new to start throwing her in the mix like that. And we aren't just talking about vocals, it's the whole package.

I clearly said IMO. So it would be according to.....me. I acknowledged there are more males out just that I'd take the best females over the best males.Jaz isn't a stranger to the game...just to the general public.....this is her 3rd deal if I'm not mistaken. She started when she was 13 and even thenshe was smashin most of the singers out. HOWEVER if we are talking the whole package....I'll take the females again. They win off B alone. Hate her ornot...she moves way more units than anyone else in the entire genre.

i cant listen to female RNB or males who sing about girly stuff like neyo and christ brown and all those pop/ rnb artists. It is all about 112 and all of thosetypes.

cuz men are better.

...no seriously.

i mean, even the great r&b songs from these female r&b acts were written by MEN. go figure.

Word, I feel like I'm not even allowed to listen to these songs.

I think because men could express themselves better sexually on tracks, if girls get too detailed and use as much sex references as we do, they'd be quickto be called a $%$#. Imagine a female making a track saying "that body rocking knockin the boots!" or "he rockin that thang like".

Plus females do that whole I'm heartbroken, you cheated on me, woman power!, I should of let you go, type stuff too much....Now if there were more trackslike Ciara - Promise
pimp.gif
for instance, it'd be a different story.

YO! See... me, myself... I prefer women's R&B. I find that their emotion comes off much more sincere. Generally I think dudes go too hard on the sex ORtheir emotion comes off far too %%%$% made for my liking.

It doesn't matter. They are STILL better than 90% of this garbage "r&b" that's out this year.
