Post Your Motorcycle

A few of us hit up a bike show today. Got there late and wasn't much left but a few stretched bikes and a wheelie machine. iWheelie or something like that.

I'm gonna start riding soon and was wondering if "bothering" with a Ninja 300 was worth it, or just go straight to the GSXR600? I understand about the respect needed going for the 600 off the bat, but was just curious as to what you guys think?

Go for the 600, every rider I know who copped a 250 ended up selling soon for something more powerful, women included.

if you just want experience riding, there are other 600cc bikes that are very forgiving for new riders (although ive never been on a gsxr)...if your heart is set on the gixxer, than i would learn off that

do you know how to operate a motorcycle? have you taken an msf/rider class (most insurance companies will give you a discount if you passed a class, & some states will accept a passed class as a waiver for the road test )? ultimately its about how much risk each individual rider is willing to accept, MANY people start off on bigger bikes with no (or relatively little) problems...and it isn't just engine size that separates these bikes, brakes, ergonomics, power delivery, seating position, as well as ease of handling ability all are generally MUCH more forgiving on the smaller bikes...also there are quite a few viable bikes below the 600cc supersports (i think there is a ninja 300r as well as the 650r and honda has got about 3 or 4 bikes that are pretty nice options under that 600cc mark), i think the most important thing is that you would feel in complete control (with respect for, but not fear of) of whatever machine you end up choosing...

I'm hoping to find me a nice first time bike for a good price once the weather breaks. Been looking all summer and starting to notice the prices are going down as the colder months approach. Trying to remain patient has been the hardest part, dont wanna jump the gun and get just any bike for the sake of having a bike.

That kawasaki....is supposed to be priced around 65k

i'd didn't see the price...i thought it was supposed to be a concept, though there eventually will be a bike that takes some of the dna & spirit of this concept...
