School me on Sneaker contracts

Nike has about 200 players it seems on the team, and Adidas and reebok have several as well. Now what happens, do they just get to pick what shoes they want towear by that company? How does it work? Why do some players get PEs?

he explained it well in the NCAA Feet thread, but ofcourse there are different dynamics for the Pros....but anyway...we both await!

but im guessin that what the guys get are what is being produced at the moment and what nike would like to push in the market for exposure...like now theflight clubs are the current nba trend, so most of their marquee players would wear flight clubs if they arent sig shoe owners already...(eg, iguodala, marion,etc).....im sure also once u have a nike contract and u as a player personally already have owned kicks like brad miller and nate robinson in bringing backmany retro kicks, they're free to do that....... for PE's well maybe Rock would have a better explanation but ofcourse, the better u are im assumin themore choice and exclusivity u earn....but thats just my basic, common-sense theory/thought.

Just know that all 200 players aren't on Money Contracts.. Some are on Product only Contracts.
