Anyone been? Anyone know the best way to get there? I mean I know you take Route 65 to the end of the rainbow and hang a left at the big beanstalk where youwill pay the wee gatekeeper a wooden nickel.
.A little searching finds that there are many supposed communities of Dwarves, Midgets, Little People - in the US and elsewhere. It kind of makes sense that they would group together for some sense of community, build houses and the like that are geared for their height and needs. However many of these are just plain mythical - but there are a few that have proved true. Even the ones that have been proven to exist seem to be fading away, and probably won't exist past this generation. They were created by circus folk, who in the off season wanted a quiet place to live out their lives, so they built houses off the beaten path.
Probably the most famous Midgetville, due to some online publicity, is in New Jersey. The most famous is associated with Annie's Road, though it's actually located just off River View Dr, it is a small enclave of houses on Norwood Terrace. For years there have been rumors of quiet little cul-de-sacs where dwarfs live. John Ringling owned a home in Alpine, and just south of where the GWB is located was a small community where dwarfs allegedly lived. The houses are (mostly) very short with very low roofs. Sometimes the roof is barely inches from the top of the door.

There are remains of what were clearly once Midgetville communities in other New Jersey towns as well. Morris Plains, Waldwick, Edgewater, Totowa, Singac, and Button Woods have all been home to one at some prior time, and some small houses or pictorial evidence exist.

There is also Midgetville in Kentucky. It's in the sticks on US 42, just south of Louisville, Kentucky on the road between Shepardsville and West Point. Cottages are arranged on a big square, high on a hill right off the main road. Most of them are built on the edge of a steep cliff. They are hanging off the edge of this cliff supported by long, narrow wooden stilts. In the center of the square is a rather large, funky looking church. The cottages are tiny, and come complete with miniature doors, windows, porches and the smallest furniture you will ever see. All told there are about 30 of these cottages.

There are confirmed reports of 2 similar Dwarf communities in California, one being located in Corona and the other, Etiwanda. Cincinnati as well claims a decent sized community of little people.

Vienna, Virginia has a somewhat famous grouping of Midgets. Across the street from Thoreau Middle School - easy to find with lots of No Trespassing signs.
