Do you listen to music you don't understand?

Aesop Rock

I only can understand random bits of what he says.

From his wiki-
"[Aesop]'s lyrics are generally seen as complex and sometimes read like a stream of consciousness.Critics state that the use of words can be so detailed that it becomes difficult to determine their originally intended meaning.[sup][5][/sup] The interpretation is highly subjective, because the messages conveyed are not always clearly defined."

And you may ask why I have these songs that I don't understand the words to. The answer is simple. I like the way it sounds.

Lol good choice of words. I remember a few months ago I was in the Virgin Megastore(RIP) in SF reading magazines and some random Brazilian song(it sounded like jazz). I thought it sounded good and it was smooth and relaxing. I'm black and filipino btw.

Back in freshman year of high school, my friends and I were in the German club (all of us who were taking German 1) and the teacher, an older lady, asked us tobring in CDs with German music. One of my friend innocently offered his Ramstein CD and the teacher wanted to listen to it to see if it was profane in any way.

After listening to it she said "it made my hair stand on end" and "those young men need some long term psychological counseling."

I though she was being a prude but when I was senior and finished German 4 and could understand what they were saying, I now agree.

I still listen to it though, even if they may sometimes talk about incest, rape, bondage, sodomy and forcing one's daughter to mate with a dog.
