So I'm looking to upgrade to a good computer sound system. i've been using a nice pair of Sennheiser's but I like when the music vibrates off metoo. no idea really on what to look out for just mainly want a good subwoofer and some nice speakers, is an amp a must? also should I upgrade my sound card? Ibought this comp in 04', this sound card is by Nvida Nforce if that matters. looking to spend around 2 bills or less, I was scoping ebay and they have alot of the logitech 5.1's for good prices it seems, are these good????

Don't listen to this man. Logitech makes quality speakers. I bought a pair of Logitech Z 5500's a couple of months ago and I love them. they retail foraround 300 I think but I got mine off amazon for 120 plus shipping.

Im hesitant to tell you to just buy some Swan M200MKII's then buy a Dayton sub later. Are you looking for surround sound?

I was gonna say this, but he'll need the inputs for it. Don't buy ANYTHING from logitech. The Z-5500 has boomy, muddy bass with anunchangeable crossover. Sound VERY congested if there is a lot of stuff going on, can't expect more than that from those puny satellites. They suffer withalmost no mids, and their enclosures are very poorly built. They are OK for gaming at that price point if you really need 5 speakers, but for music they suck.

1. audigy 2 zs soundcard (you need one). it's an old cheap card that works better than most cards out now. $25-$40.
2. Swan D1080MKII $125.99
3. bic h-100 sub $289.99

this is a good entry level setup.

you could use the rest to cop some stands so you wont have the speakers cluttered on your desk.

cool thanks. for the sound card, can I just open my PC case and un-hook the old sound card and add this one? or should I have it installed?

It sounds like you have onboard sound(on the motherboard) so, no it can't be taken off. once you install the new one, it'll take over once the driversare installed.
